‘Fed Govt’s rail project a blessing to Ekiti’

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Mr. Sola Fatoba, has hailed the Federal Government for making Ekiti one of the states to be connected by rail.

He noted that the rail project will boost agriculture, commerce, tourism and other sectors.

Fatoba, a House of Representatives aspirant for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I, described the rail project as a blessing to Ekiti.

Describing himself as a loyal progressive since 1999, Fatoba promised to give the people of Ado-Ekiti and Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Governments effective and result-oriented representation, if given the ticket and elected next year.

The politician, an investor in agriculture, addressed reporters yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, the capital.

He said Ekiti had a comparative advantage in agriculture, adding that the rail probe would boost the agricultural sector.

Fatoba expressed confidence that the Federal Government’s rail project will provide effective transport system for farm produce, as contained in the government’s specification.

The politician said the state would have developed on a faster pace, if the outgoing administration had invested in agriculture the way Governor-elect Governor Kayode Fayemi did in his first term.

He said: “It is going to be a good development when the rail line gets to Ekiti because our state is predominantly agrarian. We have comparative advantage in agriculture and the rail project will make us do better in this sector…”
