Nigerian exporters have been tasked to ensure that their produce meet up with the required international standards.

This advice was given by the Regional Coordinator, Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Mr. Babatunde Faleke, at a Technical Workshop titled “Exporting Food Products to the U.S.A under African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA)”.

According to Faleke, exporters are expected to follow set of procedures that governs the exporting process and regulations in accordance with the destination country’s imports.

Speaking about the expectations of AGOA on food exportation, Faleke pointed out that AGOA is a platform that increases Nigeria export to U.S and that already there are 6400 products under AGOA. “The essence of this training is to therefore ensure that Nigerians meet up with the required standards and do things right when exporting their products.
