Ondo group rewards teachers, pupils

Determined to promote education standard in the grassroots communities of Ondo State, a social organisation has rewarded two secondary schools in Ijare Community, Ifedore Local Government Area.

The award was for the outstanding pupils and teachers in Anglican Grammar School (AGS) and CAC High School in Ijare.

The group, Ijare Intellect Club (IIC), whose members have made appreciable progress in their chosen professions donated cash awards to the best students in the two schools.

Besides, two outstanding teachers, Bunmi Adu of CAC High School and Kolade Orimoloye of AGS were given tablets.

The best two pupils rewarded at CAC High School were Oladetoun Beulah and Ibukun Oluwadolapo; while Ajulo Seun and Ibituyi Racheal were from AGS.

Speaking at the occasion, the ICC President, Ademikun Olulade, represented by an official of the Club, Ayodele Falayo, said the reward of excellence in secondary schools in Ijare community commenced few months ago.

He said performance measurement and feedbacks were critical to the survival, efficiency and effectiveness of any organisation.

“There are two categories of recognition, firstly for the teachers who have been outstanding in impacting the lives of students in the two schools, and students who have distinguished themselves in their academics,” he said.

Olulade said the process of selecting the deserving teachers and students have been rigorous and scientific without sentiments, stressing that it was devoid of manipulation or favouritism.

He appreciated principals of both schools for providing the necessary guide during the planning stage.

The President pledged that the club would focus projects in the community till everyone was liberated from the poverty of the mind.

Ijare’s monarch, Oba Adebamigbe Oluwagbemigun, appreciated IIC’s generosity in promoting education in the community, urging the pupils to pay attention to their studies.

Benefitting teachers and pupils lauded the club for its vision aimed at lifting Ijare community.
