Okoro Udo: Dele’s immediate younger brother

Dele was my elder brother. I am in Lagos at the moment. I do clearing and forwarding business at Tinkan Island while I live at N0. 14 Nwachukwu Drive, Ago, Lagos State. One of my eldest sisters lives in Port Harcourt, while the other one lives in Enugu, Enugu State. My younger brother who lives in Port Harcourt with my sister retired from the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA). I was very happy when I got the news that you visited our village, unfortunately, I didn’t travel home for the Xmas.

I have been looking for a way to reconnect with Dele’s wife since we lost contact, at least to know how my brother’s daughter is, but that hasn’t been possible. While Angela was traveling back, she went with one of our relatives who later died. He could have been the person that would have helped to reconnect us with her (Angela) but since he is dead, the hope of seeing or hearing from her vanished.

I have contacted so many lawyers who wrote so many petitions to the federal government to see how they could redeem their pledge to the family, but nothing has come out of it as we speak. I lost contact with Angela; Dele’s wife, around 1985, by that time, I was still in Aba. By that time, my dad was still alive. My dad however died in 2005.

At a time, I wanted to travel overseas to go and see if I can meet her and to also see my niece but that didn’t happen as I lost her number. I was however optimistic that one day, this thing that is happening today will happen and I am glad that I am alive to witness it happening. We are ready to receive her (Angelle). I am eager to see our daughter. I will be very happy to see my brother’s daughter. Even if she is married, she is still our blood and I am sure it will be a great day for her seeing other family members of her father.
