Onnoghen: APC diasporian chieftain attacks PDP over stance

An All Progressive Congress Chieftain and a former aspirant of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Ifako Ijaiye 1 constituency, Ayoola Lawal has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) opposition to the Chief Justice of the Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen asset declaration trial as a party still living far in the past.
He also said the Party claim of the President alleged assault against the judiciary shows it as a party that will never repent from its old ways.
He made this known in a statement made available to our correspondent on Monday.
He said, “Rather than the PDP to allow the CJN to freely defend himself of the alleged crime, their best is to revert to their old ways and accused the Presidency and the APC of trying to assault judiciary”.
“It is only in hybrid democracy such as Nigeria that we are comfortable and shamelessly defending a suspect rather than allowing the suspect to freely defend himself/herself before the law of the land”.
“It is undeniable that the CJN knows better. It is our common practice that whenever any top elite from any region of the country is alleged of a certain crime, instead of all of us to allow the process to be, we start defending what is never defendable in any same civilized society”.
“President Buhari is committed to his promise of the fight against corruption through the use of the appropriate process and one the very season he deserves a second term, 4+4. I can categorically say that PDP is a fake repentant party and not yet ready to move the country forward by defending suspects at any slightest opportunity”.
