Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at the weekend toured ongoing project sites across the state.
Among them were the Alagbaka road dualisation, the A-Division, Okeogba and Idanre.
The governor said the A-Division to NEPA Roundabout and the dualisation of the CBN Road to Bishop’s Court in Akure, the state capital, were at advanced stages.
The Special Adviser (SA) to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Raimi Aminu, who took the governor round some of the roads, assured the people that the projects would be inaugurated as soon as they are completed next month.
At each of the sites, a huge crowd of residents trooped out and hailed the governor for initiating what they said would address the challenges of human and vehicular movements.
Addressing reporters, the Project Coordinator at FCC, a construction firm at the CBN Road in Alagbaka, Seriki Adamu, said the 565-metre road would be completed by before the end of February.
The story was the same at the A-Division end of the project, where the project coordinator said work had gone far on the first phase of the 11-kilometre road to NEPA Roundabout.
He added that the second phase of the project would begin almost immediately.
Akeredolu reiterated the commitment of his administration to ensure road construction of roads is given priority.
The governor assured the residents that the roads would be among those to be inaugurated next month to mark the governor’s second year in office.
Some of the residents, who expressed their joy, thanked the governor for the dualisation, especially at ‘A’ Division, and appealed to the contractor to complete the project before rain begins.
