An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife, Osun State, yesterday remanded a 35-year-old man, Rotimi Mathew, for alleged iron rod theft worth N50,000.
Prosecutor Olawale Odusina told the court that the accused committed the offence on January 21, at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), religious ground site, Ile-Ife.
Odusina said the defendant of unknown address allegedly stole the iron rod, property of Prof. Osasona.
He added that the offence contravened sections 383 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
