A mammoth crowd besieged the venue of President Mohammadu Buhari 2019 re-election campaign in Kebbi State.
The President first point of contact was at the Abdulahi Fodio palace where he paid homage to the Emir of Gwandu.
The President at the palace reiterated the commitments of his administration to continue the pursuit of the anti-corruption drive with vigour.
He told the emir that he is in the state to solicit for the support of the people of Kebbi for second term. adding that he is confident that the people of Kebbi will vote for him.
Buhari at the rally urged Nigerians not to relent in their support for the Federal Government’s drive to move away from over-dependence on oil to agriculture.
According to the president, the economy of the nation has now been put on a smooth footing, while the anti-corruption fight is highly successful.
He thanked the people in the state for embracing Farming and assured that the federal government through its agriculture programmes in collaboration with the Central bank of Nigeria CBN and that the bank of Agriculture would continue to Support farmers with loans to feed the Nation with food.
President Buhari also reveals that the federal government had already proved the construction of railway from Gusau in Zamfara state to Sokoto leading to Birnin Kebbi.
He also expressed delight that the production of rice in kebbi, the federal government is able to reduce the importation of the commodity to 90% from outside the country.

Meanwhile, at the Haliru Abdul stadium where the campaign took place governor, Atiku Bagudu said APC had in the last three years strengthened unity among the people and facilitated industry and agricultural development in the state.
He said this has manifested into the establishment of WACOT Rice Mill in Argungu, Kamba Rice Mill in Kamba and the proposed Dangote Rice Mill in Saminaka, Dugu-Raha, in Shanga Local Government area as well as Lake rice. Between Kebbi and Lagos.
According to him, all the state military and democratically elected officials in the state from 1999 to date are in APC. All the former governors, former deputy governors, former ministers and many national assembly members from 1999 to date are in APC.
He assured the president that the people of the state would give him the highest percentage of votes come February 16th.
The National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole in his address, said Nigerians would only vote for a person who is not a thief, adding that, former leaders who criticised the president were doing it out of their sheer personnel interests. He urged the people, to vote massively for APC sake.
