NEMA’s Head of Operations for Niger and Kwara states, Mrs. Lydia Wagami Madu, broke the news when she addressed reporters at her office in Minna, Niger State capital, after the distribution of the relief materials.

The NEMA chief said 1,000 victims benefited from the materials.

According to her, the communities attacked by armed bandits include Woro, Nukku, Worumskoto and Tunganmaje.

The NEMA chief said some residents of the communities were killed, their farm produce stolen while their homes were razed.

She added: “These communities are in the remote areas, which forced the victims to leave their homes and seek shelter in other bigger communities out of fear of subsequent attacks.”

Six hundred bags of rice, 200 bags of beans, 300 bags of Gari, 300 kegs of Vegetable oil, 300 bundles of Roofing Zinc, 150 bags of Roofing nail, 100 bag of zinc nail, 600 bags of cement and 200 cartons of tomatoes were distributed to the victims, Mrs Madu said.
