Beware of criminal minded people, ACTIV director alerts Nigerians

The Director of Africa Canada Trade and Investment Venture (ACTIV) Mr Kenneth Oguzie has alerted Nigerians to some criminal minded Nigerians with networks in Nigeria and America falsely pretending and parading themselves as partners of ACTIV.
Oguzie said agents were planning to defraud potential Nigerians with genuine intentions of attending the Africa Canada business summit 2019 in March in Canada.
In a statement on Thursday, Oguzie also said Halifax, Canada, also said Nigerians should endeavour to be good ambassadors rather than blotching the image of the country Nigeria across the globe.

He said, “Africans especially Nigerians should channel their energy in positively branding the image of the country and not otherwise. This call came as a result of information reaching the desk of Africa Canada Trade Investment Venture, one of North America leading platform for business opportunities between Canada and Africa, that some criminal minded Nigerians with networks in Nigeria and America are defrauding potential Nigerians with genuine intentions of attending the Africa Canada business summit 2019 in March in Canada. These agents have been falsely pretending and parading themselves as partners of ACTIV”.

Africa Canada Trade and Investment venture (ACTIV) is an ethical organisation committed towards fostering trade and business opportunities between West Africa and Canada. We do this by organising Trade, Investment and Business events, as well as arranging inbound and outbound trade missions”.
“We provide a platform for businesses in Nigeria, as well as other countries in the sub-continent to collaborate and partner with businesses in Canada, including export and Investment opportunities. We work closely with Government trade, business and Investment agencies in Canada, as well as export and Investment promotion agencies and departments in Nigeria and West Africa as a whole”.

He further advised members of the business community to conduct due diligence before committing any resources to any projects or events regardless of the project/event location.
