The Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate for Somolu Constituency 1 in Saturday’s house of assembly election in Lagos State, Adewunmi Adedayo, has assured the constituents of a better representation if elected.
He urged the electorate, particularly his supporters, not to be intimidated by anyone and implored them to vote for him.
The ADP candidate spoke at the weekend during a house-to-house campaign organised by his campaign organisation to sensitise the electorate on why they must vote for him on Saturday.
The campaign, which took the form of a road show, began from Sanusi Street through major streets in wards A, D, E and F.
Adedayo enjoined youths to rise up to the occasion, because the future of the nation lied in their hands.
He said: “We all must design how we want our society to look like. Do not sell your votes. Don’t be intimidated by anyone. Show the whole world that a common man can get something done in this society of ours. Just come out and vote on Saturday.
”Our representatives in the house of assembly have been cheating us for long. We sent them there to represent us, but instead of representing us, they took care of themselves. That was why we sat down and asked ourselves what could we do? We discovered that we could not continue to complain.
“The usual saying is that when light comes, darkness disappears, but if you don’t put on the light, darkness cannot disappear. This is why I am contesting as an agent of light to put on the light so that darkness can disappear.”
The ADP candidate enjoined the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure a free and fair poll.
During the road show, which lasted for hours, people trooped out to receive Adedayo.
