AAUA, AAU, others shine at essay competition

The Informant247 has unveiled winners of the first edition of its national essay competition for undergraduate students.

According to the organisers, three outstanding essays emerged out of the numerous entries received and evaluated by independent assessors.

In a statement, the organisers said: “After reviewing several submissions, The Informant247 Nigeria News are happy to announce the winners of their National Writing Contest.

“The Nigerian Newspaper greatly appreciate the efforts of everyone who participated in the competition. We had a large amount of detailed, original and intriguing submissions. The topics addressed in the essays were wide-ranging – governance, representation, education, business, tax regulation, sport betting, democracy, health, ecology, social media censorship, and technology.

“However, the standard was very high and the decisions surrounding the final selection were very difficult. With the help of the scholars that served as our judges, though far from easy, we were able to narrow the submissions down to three winners.

“For evaluation, the essays were made anonymous and checked by the judges based on the set of criteria, including content, creativity, thoughtfulness, clarity of arguments, and structure.
