Abbey Natty loses, recovers passport

It was a huge miracle for Musanzi FC of Kigali’s Nigerian forward, Abbey Natty Kurumi Sunday as he recovered his lost Nigerian passport with visa to Canada.

Abbey had gone to the bank with his purse which contained his passport, credit cards and other documents after which  he headed to the supermarket where he bought some personal things.

He then boarded a bike to Shan Grilla Motel on stone road where most of the Nigerian journalists are staying.Unfortunately on getting down from the bike, his purse fell without  noticing it.It was only on getting to his room that he discovered that he did not return with the purse.

Unable to sleep over the loss of the document, he returned to the bank where CCTV mounted in the bank revealed that he actually came in with the purse placed it on a table while filling some forms and later collected and left the bank with it.

That of course proved that the purse was not left in the bank. A visit to the supermarket also proved that it was not left there. He finally headed for the radio station where a report was made for announcement to be made and reward announced for whoever finds it.

The radio station, however ,said they can only make announcement by Monday and urged him to come back on monday.

Two young boys, Geofrey and Fosbrey, children of the same parents aged 17 and 16 picked the purse and brought it to Shan Grilla Motel where according to them they know Nigerians  reside.

“We saw a bikeman throw away a purse and we went to see what it was and found out that it had a Nigerian passport and decided to bring it to this place because we have seen a lot of Nigerians lodging there,” they said

It was while they were explaining that Abbey who was then returning from the radio station came face to face with the boys, collected his documents and began to jubilate, dancing and rolling on the floor in appreciation of the miracle.

He disclosed that his mother had called him from Nigeria telling him to constantly say “God of David help” in the course of the search.

An elated Abbey told Sportinglife:  “Today is a happy day for me, it is a miracle and I am grateful to God.  The bike man removed the money in the purse, dollars and pound sterling but the money is not my problem let him go with the money. The main thing is my passport and documents, look at my visa to Canada. I really thank God and I thank these boys,” he said as he celebrated with the boys.

” I could have travelled from Tanzania but I was told I couldn’t do that because I am not from there, I was advised to  travel either from Kigali or from Nigeria, that was why I came to Kigali so that I could travel to Canada from here,”he said.
