Abuja-Kaduna train: Families protest at transport ministry

Families of kidnapped passengers of the AK9 Abuja-Kaduna train have grounded activities at the Federal Ministry of transportation.

They arrived at the ministry before 8am to demand the release of their loved ones.

They sat on mats and carried placards with different inscriptions to demand the release of their loved ones who have been in captivity for over 115 days.

The victims were kidnapped on March 28, 2022 after an attack on the Kaduna-bound train.

Staff, including the Minister of Transportation, Permanent Secretary of the ministry and Directors were prevented from entering.

The family members vowed to remain at the gate until the Federal Government gives them a date that their loved ones will be released.

The families also condemned the silence of wife of the President Aisha Buhari.

After hours of waiting outside, the Minister of Transportation, Muazu Sambo addressed the family members.

He urged them to be patient and remain prayerful.

The Minister, the Permanent Secretary and a few staff of the ministry later entered the ministry with representatives of the families around 12:16 pm
