The Chief Security Officer(CSO) to Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Adekunle Omoyele who allegedly killed a pregnant woman and other family members over the governorship election largess in 2022 has been redeployed by the Police Headquarters.
The Nation recalled that Omoyele was arrested by men of Police Headquarters, Abuja after he allegedly shot two persons to death over election largess gifted by Governor Adeleke for his electoral victory in August 2022.
Similarly, there was an outcry by Civil Society groups that opposed his appointment and called for Omoyele’s prosecution having been previously indicted by the #EndSARS Panel for extrajudicial killings and brutality.
It was gathered that Omoyele alongside other four personnel were ordered to report to Abuja on Thursday following some allegations against them.
Meanwhile, four of the officers reported in Abuja while Omoyele vowed not to report to the Force headquarters on the ground that the signal was politically motivated.
A socio-political group chaired by Lanre Akeju in a statement on Friday alleged that the redeployment was important because the officers were involved in thuggery against the opposition parties across the state. Contacted, the spokesperson of Osun Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, said, “Omoyele alongside four officers were deployed to the FCT for special duties.”
