African Women Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Network (AWWASHNet) has organised a sensitisation among traders in Ogba, Lagos.
This is to commemorate the annual Africa Week of Action 2022 tagged: ‘African Communities in Solidarity Against Water Privatisation’,
Coordinator Veronica Nwanya said the sensitisation was borne out of concern for lack of access to quality drinking water within the market, the situation of water works and the quality of water supply.

Nwanya said the women present, as representatives of diverse communities in the market, were encouraged to voice out their concerns to their representatives in the market regarding accessing water within the market, even in their communities.
She said market comprised women from diverse communities, hence the call for action for women to spread the message to their communities.
