THE Director, Aspire Football Dreams (Nigeria), Colonel Sam Ahmedu (rtd) on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the NFF Secretariat, lamenting the death of the Federation’s Head of Protocol, Ibrahim Abubakar.
Abubakar was killed on January 6 by gunmen who stormed his house in Kado Estate, Gwarinpa.
“The death of ‘Ibro’ remains very shocking. It is a tragic thing and we can only pray that God will comfort the NFF and the young family that ‘Ibro’ has left behind.
“On behalf of Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence, I condole you and pray that this kind of thing never happens again in NFF and in Nigeria football generally.”
Ahmedu, who is also president of Zone 3 of basketball’s FIBA Africa, was received by the NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, who thanked Ahmedu and Aspire Academy for their sympathy.
Ahmedu’s visit preceded an eighth day fidau prayer for the soul of the late Abubakar organised by the Management and staff of the NFF at the Secretariat.
