Nigerianstriker Adebayo Akinfenwa has said he hopes to help AFC Wimbledon defeat his boyhood heroes Liverpool in an FA Cup game on Monday.
The journeyman striker is a Liverpool fan and will face the Anfield giants for the first time in his career and he is eagerly awaiting the clash.
“I am fit, I want to play against them and want to score against them if I get the opportunity,” he said.
“I will do my best in the game. We will give good account of ourselves in the game.
“I am a Liverpool fan, I hope Gerrard comes for the game, he is a legend and one of the best midfielders in the game, I hope he play and see me score against them.”
Akinfenwa has scored nine goals in 28 games for AFC Wimbledon so far this season.
