Two children of the late Premier of the defunct Western Region, Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola, have filed a stay of execution against a recent judgment delivered by an Oyo State High Court, sitting in Ibadan, which recognised Justice Ladiran Akintola as a biological son of the late premier.

Justice Aderonke Aderemi, who presided over Court Three of the State High Court, on May 31, granted the prayers of Justice Akintola and declared him a biological son of the late politician.

The court ruled that Justice Akintola is entitled to a share of the estate of the deceased premier.

Justice Akintola had filed a suit against his half-siblings – Chief Abayomi Akintola and Dr Abimbola Akintola – asking that the court declare that the letter of administration used by his siblings and the one earlier given to his stepmother, the late Faderera Akintola, be declared null and void.

The court granted the request.

But Abayomi and Abimbola, who are the first and second defendants in the matter, said they would appeal the court verdict.
