Warri Wolves striker, Sikiru Alimi, has told supersport.com that he has not made up his mind where he will play his club football when the new season kicks off.
“At the moment, I am still with Warri Wolves. I have not taken any decision yet on my future,” Alimi told supersport.com.
“Seeing this club get relegated has affected me seriously if you consider that just the previous season we were in contention to win the title before Enyimba won it with that 0-0 draw in Aba. For me, this is not good for my name because anytime this is brought up, my name will be involved as a player. It is just not pleasant at all for me.”
Alimi then took time to take stock of Wolves’ disappointing season and feels that changes in the coaching set-up played a major part in their relegation.
“At the start of the season, we lost too many players. A lot of them left to rival clubs and then there were the others who went to new clubs abroad. The coach also left us and that meant we had an almost new team. So those of us who remained at the club had to play with new teammates and had to adapt to the style of a new coach and new teammates. Unfortunately, we also had change in coaches at different times in the season and that wasn’t also good.
“Apart from the changes in coaches and players, there were other issues which I will prefer not to talk about. But for now I have not made any decision yet on my future with the club,” the former First Bank FC man said.
