Erstwhile Golden Eaglets coach, Emmanuel Amuneke and little known Nigerian forward Kelechi Nzekwe helped Sudanese Premier League side, Al Khartoum Watani to a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Hilal Kadogly.
Kelechi, who scored a brace in their last friendly win against First Division side, Shabab Nasri opened scoring in the 18th minute.
Al Watani continued their blistering form in front of goal with two more strikes courtesy Wagdi and Yuseri before half-time while their opponent got a consolation goal to end the match 3-1.
The free scoring Al Watani has now scored 14goals and conceded just twice as they look to have embraced the attacking philosophy of the former Barcelona winger.
“We are happy with the result against Hilal today and this is our fourth friendly match,” Amuneke said after the encounter. “We are much more concerned about the tactical play and there is an improvement than in previous matches.”
Amuneke has now led Al Watani to four consecutive victories since he replaced Ghanaian coach Kwesi Appiah as coach of the team.
