The gale of defections trailing the decision of the Katsina state branch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to adopt Senator Yakubu Lado as its consensus governorship candidate heightened yesterday in Kankia Local government area when Engineer Muhammad Nashuni joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Nashuni was governorship candidate of the party in 2015.
Nashuni’s defection followed that of Alhaji Umar Tata announced last week.
Governor Aminu Masari, while welcoming the defectors at the local government secretariat, said APC was large enough to accommodate them and their aspirations in the state.
Masari, who was represented by Senator Abubakar Kaita(Katsina North) expressed delight in the decision of Nashuni to defect with his supporters to the party and assured them of equal treatment and fair play.
Nashuni told the crowd that he left the PDP because of lack of Justice and fair play.
He urged all his supporters to move with him to the APC
