House of Representatives candidate for Ilorin West and Asa Federal Constituency under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya, has donated a sum of N10million for 2023 political activities.
The philanthropist turned politician said this in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital at a special prayer session and official commissioning of the Muktar Shagaya campaign office.
Shagaya promised the constituents quality representation if elected.
He had earlier announced the sum of N5million to some Islamic clerics during the special prayer session, adding that “the campaign will be an issue-based and as part of my plans, our movement had decided to construct 500 boreholes across the country and 300 boreholes shall be constructed across the 16 local governments of Kwara where larger percentage shall be domiciled in Ilorin West and Asa Federal Constituency. “Moreover, it is worth mentioning that the resources are available to organise a peaceful campaign against naysayers who are spreading rumours and lies that our team doesn’t have both capital and human wherewithal.”
Speaking, the state APC Chair Prince Sunday Fagbemi lauded the philanthropic gesture of Shagaya while appreciating him for his uncommon commitment and dedication to the progress of the party not only in the state but also in the country.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to delivering all its candidates successfully.
In a remark, an APC chieftain in the state Kunle Sulyman (Esq) hailed Shagaya for his never-say-die spirit since his political debut in 2015.
He prayed for continuous progress while emphasising that the choice of Muktar Tolani Shagaya for the Federal House of Representatives is for the collective progress and development of the constituency.
