THE Chief Edozie Njoku-led All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), on Saturday begged the party’s pioneer chairman, Chief Chekwas Okorie, to return back to the party. Njoku, who led the party’s national working committee members to apologise to Okorie for all the injustices he suffered in the party in the past 20 years, said his leadership would attempt to make amends and build a new APGA in years to come.
He said, “I want to tell you that anytime I see you, Chekwas in APC, I feel ashamed all because of the injustice those who hijacked APGA meted to you. “I don’t want to say much. But we’re here to apologise to you and tell you that this is your family. APGA is your home. APGA is your baby, and we say please come back to your home.”
“We are so happy today with the selected members of NWC, who left Abuja, we just got that recognition from Supreme Court a few days ago and we said we must do something. The most important thing we must do is first and foremost come down to Chief Chekwas Okorie. From the bottom of our hearts we are truly sorry for all the injustices you have suffered in this great party that you conceived, and brought all of us into Igboezuo. We are truly, truly, truly sorry”.
Chief Okorie, who said he was happy to recite the slogan of APGA again, said the party was a victim of ‘political brigandage and political kidnapping’ caused by ‘political buccaneers’. He said “I am a bit emotional with the nature of this visit. You have melted my heart. God has rescued APGA and days of the locust have gone.
