The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Edo State chapter, Bishop Oriname Kure, has called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, and other security chiefs, to arrest and prosecute the suspected assassins who ast Friday attacked the convoy of the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman.

Kure yesterday, in Benin, said the attackers must not go free after killing seven innocent persons, including three police inspectors, while the cleric, who was in a bullet-proof Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), escaped from the gunmen.

He said: “We…urge the security operatives in the state, and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), under the leadership of the IGP, to bring to book all the assailants, perpetrators, their sponsors, and all those in connection with the heinous and ungodly act.

“CAN, Edo State, received with great shock and sadness, the news of the assassination attempt on the life of Apostle Suleman. Without any reservation, and with all sense of responsibility, we vehemently condemn the attempted assassination on October 21, 2022 by some gunmen, along Wareke-Auchi Road, in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

“The Body of Christ in Edo State is sad indeed, and condemns, in the strongest term, the vicious attack on the man of God.”
