The Benue State joint security task force has killed two suspected accomplices of a wanted militant, Terwase Akwaza, also known as Ghana, it was learnt yesterday.
Briefing reporters at the policePolice Commissioner Bashir Makama said Atondo Ibya and David Nyior were killed in Gbishe while trying to escape arrest.
Three others, John Tsehe, Sonter and Aondoaseer Swende, were also arrested.
“It is a joint security operation. The Director of State Security, the commanding officer of 72 Special Forces and other security agencies are all here.
“This is a continuation of the search and onslaught on criminals in their hideouts,” he said.
The late Ibya was said to have led the attack on Singa in Katsina-Ala council where 10 people were killed.
Makama said items recovered from the suspects, included sets of Army uniform, a vest of charms, a car and several number plates, including foreign diplomatic ones.
He appealed to the people to give information that will help in ridding the state of criminals.
Makama added that Patrick Uchenna from Anambra State was arrested with two power-generating sets, which he was taking to Nasarawa State.
