Association chief pledges commitment to humanity

Vice President of Law Students Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN), Florence Agogo, has pledged her commitment to upliftment of humanity.

Agogo spoke when she received an award from Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in recognition for her service to humanity, in Abuja.

The award was given on occasion of the 39th Etim Inyang PCRC Anniversary and Awards Presentation, “Enhancing the Ideals of Community Policing in Nigeria.”

Other awardees included wife of Inspector General of Police and President of Police Officers Wife Association (POWA), Hajiya Hajara Baba; Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammed Dingyadi; Deputy Inspector General of Police, Abdulmajid Ali (rtd) and Johnson Kokumo.

Others are retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hamed Iliyasu; former PCRC chairman, Dr Faruk Maiyama; Chairman of Adron Homes and Properties, Aare Emmanuel King; and Chairman of GFO Orim Foundation, Dr Martins Orim.

Agogo, who has facilitated many community services and programmes to improve  lives of the less privileged, said she derives joy from helping others.

“I derive my joy and happiness from helping others, seeing people are facing problems and pressure. There are many students who cannot pay fees because their parents are challenged. There are people who cannot feed.

“By the privilege of God, I think I have a little advantage so I tend to see how I can use my advantage and resources to see how I help other people,” she said.
