The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 general elections, Atiku Abubakar has assured women and youths of 60 per cent inclusiveness in his government if elected as president.

Atiku stated this at the unveiling of the security, health, and education campaign office, women and youths support group in Abuja. He said the decision is already included in his policy documents for the 2023 general elections.

Atiku noted that women and youths constitute an important segment of society as far as human development is concerned, as he added that in every election there is a change in strategy.

“This election is not about rallying or opening a beautiful office, it is about delivering your unit. If you want us to look after your group, deliver your unit if you come to me I will say bring your results,” he said.

If you cannot deliver your unit, don’t come to us saying I have been following you. What we want is for you to bring results, which are the instructions you will receive henceforth. It is not also by opening big and attractive offices, the keyword is delivering your unit. The struggle for the next democratic process is in your respectful voting unit.

Hajia Amina Titi Atiku Abubakar said it is time to take a moment to reflect, rethink and re-evaluate our commitments to the task of nation-building, believing that a sustainable democracy must be built on the foundation of sustainable development, powered by the strong commitment to sustainable leadership to steer this great country to meet its true potential.

“The future will be bright through the empowerment of women, youths and people with disabilities across Nigeria.

“The past two decades of the evolving Nigerian democratic landscape has witnessed many social development programmes on women and youth empowerment; all meant to boost the trajectory of national growth.

“Yet, most failed due to lack of political will and a few succeeded but were not sustained due to divergent visions of political transitions.

“The SHE campaign is situated at the heart of the Atiku Abubakar-led PDP presidential campaign agenda to mainstream people-centric security, dividends of democracy, where health care and education guarantees responsive women and youths in Nigeria.

“Opportunities for the UN global village statistics for gender and youth inclusivity across the sustainable development goals estimated over  60 per cent deficits margin for community development in Sub-Saharan Africa and Nigeria on issues pertaining to sustainable development such as poverty, hunger, good health and well-being, education, climate change, employment, gender equality, clean water and sanitation,” she said.
