Toast guys once in a while, BBNaija’s Vee tells ladies

Reality TV star Victoria Adeyele aka Vee has tipped women on relationship.

She argued it was alright for women to woo men, encouraging her gender to do some once in a while.

According to her, women should also imbibe the culture of taking chances and chasing after men they desire no matter how daunting it may seem.

“Toast these guys once in a while. Go for what you like,” she tweeted.

Vee is a musician based in Lagos State. She born and raised in London; and moved to Lagos almost four years ago to build her musical career.

Tagged the “Queen of flames” on the reality TV show, Vee considers herself a preacher of love and a fighter.

She was one of the housemates that competed for the grand prize of N85 million on the fifth edition of Big Brother Naija Reality TV Show.

During a discussion section with her fellow housemates on the show, Vee revealed she didn’t go to the high institution because of her look for music and the high cost of tuition fees in London.

She also stated that she didn’t want to dislike her course if she studied any.

  • Dexcute Icons’ Debut Single, Why Climbs To Top Of Local Music Charts

Dexcute Icons’ Debut Single, Why Climbs To Top Of Local Music Charts

When Kolawole Idris Abiola (professionally known as Dexcute Icons) decided to give music a second try in 2022, little did he know that his hands would take hold of success sooner than he expected. For the Southwest-based artist, entertainment has always been the focus of his professional career. From being a comedian and skit maker to making music, Dexcute Icons is passionate about putting smiles on the faces and hearts of his audience. The Oyo-born musician is living true to his first name (bringer of wealth) with the recent success of his official debut single, Why. The Afrobeats song, released in May 2023, has transformed Dexcute Icons from an up-and-coming musician to one of the fast-rising singers in Nigeria.

Why’s success is unprecedented as it has climbed the top of many local music charts in the Southwest region within weeks of its release. The fun doesn’t stop at the charts alone, as the single is also doing great numbers on local radio stations. Why has become the choice song of several regional radio houses and has featured on their top songs playlist every week. It won’t be far-fetched to say that Dexcute Icons and his management team are swimming in millions. And if there aren’t already, it’s only a matter of time before they do. As expected, Why’s success has been converted to more popularity and social currency for Dexcute Icons. He is no longer famous for being a rising skit maker and comedian. He is now known for being one of the young cats who will take Afrobeats to the next level.

Like other music artists who broke into the industry with a hit song, Deccute Icons is now a famous face in clubs and lounges across the Southwest region. He has become a regular at music shows, concerts and festivals held in the region. Despite savoring every part of his recent success, Dexcute Icons hasn’t gone overboard like some other young artists have been known to. The talented musician maintains his cool demeanor as he continues to make music and create content. The reason behind the lack of behavioral change is not far-fetched. Dexcute Icons hadn’t expected his official debut single to become a hit very fast. “I knew that I had created a very good song. There’s no doubt about that. However, I must confess that I didn’t expect Why to blow up so quickly,” Dexcute Icons recently revealed in an interview.

Why’s success in the music market comes with expectations, and there is already evidence of this as fans have begun demanding another single. This is no surprise. Music lovers want to taste more of Dexcute Icons’ artistry, and a second song would help quench the taste, at least for a while. The fans will always want more. Dexcute Icons understands this, too, and that’s why he has hinted at more singles in the coming days. “I plan to drop more songs as the year progresses. I am also looking forward to features with A-list artists and other rising musicians like myself,” He said. “Also, before the year runs out, my debut Extended Play (EP) will be released so my fans can enjoy a bigger project.”

If Dexcute Icons keeps his promise and manages to maintain the momentum of Why’s success, it’s only a matter of time before he breaks into the music market of other parts of the country. And when this happens, he is bound to join the ever-growing list of music superstars in the country. Only time will tell if Dexcute Icons can attain this success or not.

  • Seven legal weapons for widows to inherit husband’s properties

Seven legal weapons for widows to inherit husband’s properties

In Nigeria, when a husband dies, the widow has the right to inherit his properties. This means she can get the things he owned after he passed away. It is important because it helps the widow continue her life and take care of the family. This rule is fair and helps widows have a secure future. The seven legal weapons include:

    1. Statutory Marriage: If the marriage was registered under the Nigerian law, the widow has legal rights to her deceased husband’s property. Section 39 of the Matrimonial Causes Act 1970 recognises the right of a widow to inherit her husband’s property.

    2. Estate Administration: The widow should apply for letters of administration or probate to legally administer the husband’s estate. This process may involve obtaining a certificate of death and providing required documentation as per the applicable laws.

    3. Intestate Succession: If the husband died without leaving a will, the widow is entitled to inherit a certain portion of the estate. As per the provisions of the Administration of Estate Law, the widow usually inherits a share of the estate, alongside the children and other relatives. The specific percentage may vary based on factors like the presence of children, other heirs, etc.

    4. Customary Marriage: If the marriage was conducted under customary law, the widow may have rights to inherit the husband’s property as per customary practices. These practices can vary based on cultural and regional traditions.

    5. Right of Residence: Even if the property is not bequeathed to the widow, she may have the right to reside in the matrimonial home for a period. Section 17(3) of the Matrimonial Causes Act 1970 grants the surviving spouse the right to reside in the matrimonial home for her lifetime, or until she remarries.

    6. Jointly Owned Property: If the property was jointly owned by the couple, the widow may automatically become the sole owner of the property after the husband’s death. However, legal advice should be sought to ascertain the exact ownership rights and any necessary legal procedures to be followed.

    7. Consult a Legal Professional: It is essential for the widow to seek legal advice from a qualified lawyer who specializes in inheritance and family law. They can guide the widow through the legal processes and provide accurate interpretation and application of the relevant sections of Nigerian law.
