Indigenous Nigerian artist and step brother to the late Dargrin, Olanipekun Olatubosun, aka Trod, has addressed claims of siphoning the royalties linked to the songs of the deceased.
Dagrin’s mother recently asked for financial aid from Nigerians.
In a viral video, the aged woman disclosed that she now sells on the street to make a living.
Reacting to the trending video, Nigerians called out Trod, who is a step-brother to the late rapper, and accused him of profiting from Dagrin’s song proceeds while his family struggled.
Responding to the allegation on his official Twitter handle, Trod claimed that he is unaware of any income linked with Dagrin’s songs.
He urged whoever has been receiving royalties from the late rapper’s song to come out.
He tweeted: “I dunno shit about Grins Royalties. The person who has been getting paid for 13 years should come out. DMCE whatever”.

Sandra Iheuwa, the baby mama of Ubi Franklin, has expressed concerns over the mental health of Davido’s wife, Chioma Adeleke.
The social media has been boiling over the alleged affairs between Davido and his rumoured baby mama, Anita.
Speaking via Instagram, Iheuwa noted that Chioma must be having a difficult time since her family business is all out in the open.
Iheuwa stated that she does not care about Davido and the alleged pregnant lady but really worried about Chioma.
She praised the singer’s wife for her strength and hoped that God would help her with handling the pain the scandal has brought.
She wrote: “I don’t even care about these two. God is in heaven, I don’t even imagine what Chioma is going through my heart goes out to her cos this thing can be painful. God will help her go through the pain and come out strong. I’m rooting for you Chioma. Strong woman. May we know them, may we raise them, may we be them”.

President of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, has revealed what his wife, Gloria calls him.
The gospel film actor, producer said his wife still calls him ‘Bro Mike’ after 35 years of marriage.
The couple are celebrating 35 years of their wedding anniversary, The Nation learnt.
Bamiloye, who shared a picture of his wife on his Instagram page, wrote she still calls him Bro Mike even after years of marriage.
He however said he will break the jinx before their 40th wedding.
According to him: “Before we married, when we were in Courtship, she has been calling me what the brethren in the Campus Christian Fellowship use to call me: “Bro Mike.
“That is what everybody in the Christian fellowship called me. And when we got married, she didn’t stop calling me Bro Mike! Then we got our first son and we were shocked when the one-year-old boy called me: “aa-aa-yite!
“We both tried to begin to call: sweetie! honey! baby!, sweatheart! MD!” It didn’t work out! One day, before my mum (big sister) who had been fighting this, My wife wanted to prove to my big sister that we had tried our best to adjust. I was upstairs and she called me in the presence of my mum: “honey!” sweetie!! sweatheart!!” She called and called and it didn’t register that I was the one she was calling.
“I was hearing her voice but it never registered. Then she just called “bro Mike!” And I responded very loudly. And my mum laughed! And that was it. And now, our marriage has been 35 years and all our children are married with children and she has not stopped calling: “bro Mike!” And I have not stopped responding!
“But I am going to break this jinx one day before our 40th wedding anniversary! I promise you all, I will break the jinx before the grandchildren begin to call me: “braaa-hightee!”

Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has promised to provide good service delivery during the sallah holidays.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Managing Director, Mr. Kingsley Achife, on Wednesday, in Ilorin.
Achife assured customers that the technical crew remained dedicated to promptly resolving faults that may arise during the period.
He urged Nigerians to embrace love during the celebration, informing them that the management had launched convenient payment apps.
The managing director felicitated Muslims and all Nigerians on the Eid-El-Kabir celebration, emphasising that the festival epitomised the values of love and sacrifice, which are fundamental pillars for the existence and progress of humanity.
Achife urged Muslim faithful and all citizens to embody the spirit of love needed in fostering the continuous prosperity of Nigeria.
He advised consumers against engaging unqualified individuals to fix electrical faults in their vicinity and emphasised on the importance of properly earthing their premises.
The managing director warned that tampering with electrical installations is not only illegal but can also lead to electrical accidents.
Achife appealed to motorists to refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol and to observe traffic rules meticulously, in order to prevent collisions with electrical poles and other accidents.
He encouraged customers to take advantage of IBEDC’s hassle-free payment channels to settle their bills and purchase electricity units, thereby avoiding disconnection.
“To cater to customer needs, IBEDC offices will remain open during the public holidays from 9 am to 3 pm,” he said.(NAN)

Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke left the Osogbo Eid praying ground angrily after a clash with ex-senate spokesperson Ajibola Basiru over the sitting arrangement.
The Nation observed Basiru arrived the ground with Asiwaju of Osogbo Chief Tunde Badmus and other prominent sons of Osogbo to observe Turakat congregational prayer.
Basiru sat on the reserved front-row seat but one of Adeleke’s protocol officers approached the ex-lawmaker the seat was kept for the Governor.
Our correspondent observed Basiru moved to another seat on the front row but the protocol officer kicked against the change.
Few minutes later, Adeleke arrived the Eid prayer ground and Chief Badmus left his seat to welcome the Governor from the gate.
When he arrived, it was noticed the protocol officer insisted that Basiru should leave the front row but some indigenes resisted, arguing Basiru is one of their prominent sons.
The scene led to an uproar, making Adeleke return to his car. After some minutes, he returned and noticed that Basiru was still sitting on the front row. He then left angrily without praying.
Shortly after the Governor left, Police operatives shut the gate, telling worshippers they had orders to arrest Basiru.
The worshippers resisted and forced the gate open. Basiru and other prominent indigenes of Osogbo observed the prayers and left the ground.
Attempt to get reactions from Basiru and Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed proved abortive.
They did not respond to calls or texts as of the time of filing this report.

Robbers have attacked several travellers stranded on the Benin-Akure highway and the Ipele/Idoani/Isua/Kabba highway in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Many of the travellers were said to have been robbed of their valuables.
Some had to take motorcycle to cross through bush paths to other side of the road.
It was gathered the diversion of traffic from the failed portion of the Ekpoma-Abuja-Okene highway exerted pressure on the Benin-Akure highway and some parts got destroyed due to heavy rains.
Chairman of Ose Local Government area, Hon Dennis Adekunle, who confirmed the robbery attack, said he has written to the Ondo State Government for urgent repair work on the road.
Adekunle said the quarry he approached for help declined because the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) might sue it for interference.
He said bandits have robbed many of the stranded travellers on the highway.

The Founder of Adoration Ministry Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka has commissioned the newly renovated Ebonyi Police Monitoring and Surveillance Team(CMST) station
The Station was renovated by Fabian Iloabanafor, Commander of the unit.
Mbaka was received by Ebonyi Police Commissioner CP Faleye Olaleye at the Force headquarters.
The Rev Father blessed the Commissioner, who is set for retirement soon and commended him for his dedication to service.
He proceeded to the Monitoring and Surveillance Team (CMST), Liberation Estate, Abakaliki where he blessed the building Iloabanafor, explained that the (CMST) Unit was created to assist the command monitor and curtail excesses of uniformed personnel and tackling of other crimes in the State.
He commended residents who supported him in renovating the command.
His words: “When we came here, this place was bushy, and hoodlums were attacking policemen because there was no fence.
“In fact, nothing was on ground so the only option was to approach some individuals who are leaving here and outside the Estate to assist us execute this project an today to the glory of God the building is completed.
“With this base, I am expecting more manpower, more vehicles and other logistics to secure the state.”

The Federal Government has stopped funding professional bodies from the annual budget.
The Director General, Budget Office of Federation (BoF) Ben Akabueze announced this in a circular to heads of all professional bodies in the country.
The circular dated June 26, 2023 said the decision was taken after the 13 meeting the Presidential Committee on Salaries (PCS).
Akabueze said the Presidential Committee on Salaries (PCS) “approved the discontinuation of budgetary allocation to Professional Bodies/Councils effective 1st January, 2024”.
Parts of the letter read: “The purpose of this letter therefore is to inform you that, in compliance with PCs’s directive, this Office will no longer make budgetary provisions to your Institution, which means that you will be regarded henceforth as a self-funded organisation.”
He added from January 1, 2024 “all affected professional bodies wil be required to be fully responsible for your personnel, overhead and capital expenditures”.
Captured in 2023 budget as subscription to professional bodies, the office of the Auditor General Office proposed to spend N1,840,612 on professional bodies.
The Ministry of Communication Technology and Digital Economy proposed N268,979; Ministry of Petroleum N2,376,747; Ministry of Justice N1,500,000 and Ministry of Information and Culture N3,707,633
