Bill Gates confirmed Burna Boy’s upcoming status – Daniel Regha

Controversial social media commentator Daniel Regha has suggested co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, has confirmed his stance about musical superstar, Burna Boy being an upcoming artiste.

Last month, Regha in an interview with former BBNaija housemate, Doyinsola David referred to Burna Boy as an upcoming artiste, in comparison to Davido, Olamide and Wizkid.

Recently, Bill Gates, during a forum with students and young innovators from Nigeria and across Africa, shared he was ‘forced’ to look up two Afrobeats stars, Burna Boy and Rema following his daughter’s excitement about them.

He acknowledged Davido and Wizkid, stating ‘the last time he was in Nigeria, he did get to see them perform and was quite impressed with their performance’.

This prompted Regha’s remark where he reinforced his stance about Burna Boy being a new cat just like Davido had also mentioned during a recent interview.

O.B.O claimed he championed the spread of Afrobeats globally along with Wizkid and expressed joy at seeing the likes of Burna Boy, Rema, Asake, Fireboy DML, Mayorkun and others who he dubbed as ‘new cats’ ‘coming in and killing it’.

Following Gates comments on the Afrobeats superstars, Regha chided individuals who criticised Davido, Timaya and him for calling Burna an upcomer in the Nigerian music scene.

“When I said that Burna is still an upcomer despite his popularity, people called me crazy. Davido & Timaya were also insulted for implying the same; But all of a sudden Burna’s upcomer status has become facts cos of Bill Gates? Lolz. Y’all should keep deceiving yourselves,” he tweeted.

As soon as the MD/CEO arrived at the commission’s premises, the building was thrown into temporary cacophony as more than three hundred staff members thronged out to welcome him.

Many senior staff members were visibly delighted to see their boss return to resume work. They offered prayers of thanksgiving for President Bola Tinubu for allowing Dr. Ogbuku to provide what they described as ”positive leadership.”

One of the senior staff members, Onyinye, spoke passionately about how the NDDC has been positively transformed in the last six months under the current Managing Director.

She said: “You can see that everyone is excited about the fact that our MD was retained. He is a good man who has improved the welfare of workers in this commission.

”He runs an inclusive administration that is fair to all. He is humble, calm, and calculated in his vision to transform our region.

”We are grateful to President Tinubu because one of the biggest problems of this commission is the frequent change in leadership.

”If this MD is allowed some more time, he can consolidate on the foundation of the reforms he wants to carry out.”

Recall President Tinubu recently authorised the dissolution of the boards of parastatals and government agencies while retaining chief executives to report to him directly through the Permanent Secretaries of respective ministries.
