Legend Sergio Ramos advises Harry Kane on Real Madrid offer

Sergio Ramos has warned Harry Kane to not turn down the opportunity to play for Real Madrid.

Manchester United are also interested in signing the England captain, though Tottenham owner Daniel Levy is reluctant to see his star player leave this summer – despite the risk of losing him for nothing next year.

Former Madrid captain Ramos enjoyed 16 trophy-laden years at the Santiago Bernabeu, and the Paris Saint-Germain defender has issued a word of advice for the Tottenham star.

Ramos said: ‘My advice to any player is don’t turn down the opportunity to play for Real Madrid – it is a special club who know how to win.

‘He [Kane] has an incredible physical presence, you can’t score as many goals as he does in the Premier League and not be able to play the physical side of the game.

‘But also he can play the technical side of the game as well and I don’t think he gets enough credit for that.

‘Yes, he is a great goal scorer but also he is a great football player as well.’

Ramos knows more than most about the power Madrid wields in the European game, having won 22 pieces of silverware during his time with the club – including five LaLiga titles and four Champions League trophies.

Kane on the other hand is still to win a trophy despite his status as one of the world’s greatest strikers.

Ramos added that whoever Madrid look to sign, should embrace the pressure of replacing Benzema – who he feels is irreplaceable.

The 37-year-old said: ‘What you do need to do though is bring in a quality forward who can come in and score goals. Not everybody can play for Real Madrid as there is so much pressure and expectation – so it needs to be the right player.’

Reports have suggested that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is going to attempt to bring down the Englishman’s price, despite Tottenham preparing to dig their heels in over their star man.

“I cannot marry a mummy’s boy. He has to be a man of himself. Of course, I want a man that has someone in his family that he respects and listens to. He has to be someone who keeps to his words, and cannot be easily swayed,”the ‘Blood of Enogie’ star started.

She added: “No family member will live with me and my husband unless she (mother-in-law) is sick and is in need of attention.

“I am a busy woman and not the type that would sit at home to take care of anybody. I am of the opinion that in-laws living permanently with a newly-wed couple is not good.”
