Actress Eniola Badmus has received a certificate of appreciation for her considerable contribution to President Bola Tinubu’s pre-inauguration concert.
The Renewed Hope concert took place on Saturday, May 27, in Abuja.
In recognition of her contribution to the success of the concert, Eniola Badmus received a certificate of appreciation from the President’s son, Seyi.
Eniola Badmus was filled with excitement as she proudly flaunt the certificate on her Instagram page.
She wrote: “This actually goes a long way in my heart being rewarded for your effort and successful delivery of a great event…..Big shoutout to @seyitinubu I’m grateful.”
Afrobeats singer Davido has admitted to feeling awe-struck on the very first day he set eyes on the Mavin boss, Don Jazzy.
He likened his feeling on that day to one who just encountered Jesus.
In a 24-hour exposé with storyteller, Tayo Aina, where he shared his story on how he got started with music, O.B.O acknowledged Don Jazzy as his mentor.
He said: “Just how you picked up your camera and started blogging, that’s just how it was for me. I just picked up a laptop and started going everywhere and showing people that, ‘Oh, I know how to….’
“My main strong point was that I knew how to engineer, I knew how to make beats. So, that way like my main strong point.

Nigerians have been advised to embrace cycling as alternative means of transportation in the midst of fuel subsidy removal in the country.
Mr Joshua Adekanye, Oyo State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), gave the advice on Saturday in Ibadan at the celebration of the 2023 World Bicycle Day.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the United Nations (UN) had in 2018 declared June 3 of every year as the World Bicycle Day.
It is an international observance recognised as a result of uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for two centuries.
The day is set aside to raise awareness about the importance of bicycles as a sustainable mode of transportation.
According to him, it is advisable for the general public to make use of bicycles now that fuel subsidy has been removed, because bicycle do not use fuel.
He said that carbon emissions to the atmosphere by vehicles would also be drastically reduced, when Nigerians rely more on bicycles.
This, Adekanye said, would create an enabling environment for Nigerians to live in.
“Use of bicycle is economically cheap, because the cost of bicycle is not as expensive as using a car or motorcycle,” he said.
On the health benefits, Adekanye said that cycling, not only improves physical strength, but also helps reduce body fat “and keep heart healthy”.
“Cycling may help prevent and manage medical conditions; helps in improving mental health and reduces stress, among other benefits, ” the sector commander said.
He, however, commended the contributions of all the agencies and stakeholders toward advancing the course of encouraging cycling in the society.
Adekanye urged relevant stakeholders to keep on sensitising the general public on the need to embrace cycling.
NAN also reports that five cyclist organisations and young cyclists from the Air Force Primary School, Ibadan, participated in the event.
Among the organisations were Lifeline Cyclists, Rising Star Cycling Academy and Pedal Power Cycling Club.
The cycling event took off at the State Command of the FRSC, Eleyele, en route Jericho – Dugbe – Mokola – Sabo and ended at Lekan Salami stadium Adamasingba.
President Bola Tinubu has sent a message of commiseration to the government and people of the Republic of India over a multiple train crash in the country which killed over 280 passengers.
The fatal crash involving two passenger trains and a goods train in the Indian city of Balasore, in the eastern state of Odisha, occurred on Friday.
Aside those killed, over 900 others were injured in what was one of the worst rail crashes in recent history.
Tinubu described the train accident as heartrending, while consoling the Indian government and families of the victims.
“My heart goes to the families of those affected in the unfortunate and heartrending train crash in the Indian State of Odisha.
“We stand with India in brotherhood at this difficult time. The magnitude of the crash and the high casualty figure call for global support for India to adequately respond to this calamitous accident.
“I send my deepest sympathy and condolences to His Excellency Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the people of India and the families of those trapped in the crash,” the President said.
One passenger train derailed on to the adjacent track and was struck by an incoming train on Friday, also hitting a nearby stationary freight train.
A massive recovery operation is under way, after hundreds of emergency workers searched the wreckage.
The cause of India’s worst train crash in over 20 years is not yet clear.
Officials say several carriages from the Coromandel Express, travelling between Kolkata and Chennai derailed in Balasore district after hitting a stationary goods train.
Several of its coaches ended up on the opposite track.
Another train travelling in the opposite direction – the Howrah Superfast Express travelling from Yesvantpur to Howrah – then hit the overturned carriages.
“The force with which the trains collided has resulted in several coaches being crushed and mangled,” Atul Karwal, chief of the National Disaster Response Force said.
More than 200 ambulances and hundreds of doctors, nurses and rescue personnel were sent to the scene, the state’s chief secretary Pradeep Jena said.
It dismissed the death rumour of the Governor, stating Akeredolu is “very much alive.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has asked Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to resign if he could no longer perform his functions.
It warned that the State should not be grounded beyond its present state and cautioned politicians against playing politics with the health of the Governor.
The Ondo PDP said the handlers and managers of Akeredolu have not released any information as to his whereabouts.
Spokesman for the Ondo PDP, Kennedy Peretei, said it was a great disservice to keep mum over the Governor’s health status and his whereabouts.
He said: “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ondo State Chapter, demands that, those hiding the governor should tell the people where he is to save the state from speculation.
“If for whatever reason, Akeredolu can no longer discharge his official responsibilities, the most reasonable thing to do is to hand over to the Deputy Governor as required by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).”
