    The creator economy is growing to be one of the biggest employers of labour in Nigeria. People who started as random internet users have realised that they could make a viable career by leveraging social media and knowledge as content creators, influencers, and YouTubers.

    In no particular order, we take a look at top five leading Nigerian female content creators:

    Taaooma

    Maryam Apaokagi, known as Taaooma, is a comedian, content creator, cinematographer, and social media influencer. She is known for acting multiple roles in her comedy skits and shows immense talent doing this. Taaooma’s consistency, creativity and passion makes her one of the most sought after female content creators in Nigeria.

    Kiekie

    Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, known as Kie Kie, is a multi-talented TV personality, actress, content creator, model and fashion icon. She is based in Lagos and is currently one of the most reputable Nigerian female fashion models.

    Ashmushy

    With over one million followers on Instagram, and over 3,000 subscribers on Youtube, Amarachi Amusi, aka Ashmushy, is not doing badly as a content creator and brand influencer. Since she became popular as a skit maker, her life has changed in a huge way.

    Her versatility, sex appeal and consistency are the traits that set her apart.

    Nons Miraj

    Chinonso Ukah, aka Nons Miraj and Ada Jesus, is a female skit maker and brand influencer who puts smiles on the faces of many with her skits. In an interview, she stated that she made her first million naira on Instagram.

    In August 2021, she took to her Instagram page to inform her 400,000 followers that she had purchased a new car. She wrote, “Thank you for 400k plus followers. Your favourite has finally bought a car.”

    She has over 500,000 followers on Instagram and over 80,000 subscribers on YouTube.

    Olubukola Akinpelu better known as Mylifeassugar is a Nigerian-American content creator, registered-nurse and nursing coach.

    The nurse who helps nursing students become successful by providing them with the tips and strategies they need to succeed on their journey to becoming nurses, said helping them navigate the world of nursing has been the most rewarding thing she has ever done.

    In one of her videos titled ‘What I wish I knew before nursing school’, the passionate nursing coach outlined some costly mistakes nursing students make when they get into nursing schools.

    NDLEA destroys five hectares of indian hemps in Ekiti

    The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ekiti Command has destroyed five hectares of Indian hemp plantation at Ire-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area.

    The Deputy State Commander, NDLEA, Mohammed Ibrahim, who disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital said the discovery was as a result of intelligence gathered by the agency’s operatives.

    The commander said that eight suspects had been arrested in connection with the plantation and about 1,465 kgms of the illicit substances were recovered during the operation.

    He said:” Following a tip-off from credible intelligence sources we have discovered 5 hectares of land where cannabis is being cultivated in Ire-Ekiti in Oye Council Area of Ekiti and we mobilised our men to the area for immediate action.

    “In the course of the intelligence-driven operation, 1,465 kilograms of cannabis sativa popularity known as Indian hemp were recovered while 8 suspects were arrested.

    “The exhibits have been evacuated to the Command headquarters in Ado Ekiti and investigation is currently ongoing and whoever is found culpable will definitely be prosecuted”, he said.

    The NDLEA boss called on traditional rulers and community leaders not to give up their farmlands for the cultivation of Indian hemp and illicit substances.

    Fire razes nine herbs shops in Osun

    Nine shops were on Tuesday razed by fire along Ibokun road, Oja-Oba area, Osogbo capital of Osun.

    The Nation gathered the fire started in one of the shops around 2: 30am after which residents of the area mobilised to the scene to extinguish the fire.

    However, when they could not put it off, men of the Fire Service were informed and promptly moved to the scene.

    Osun Fire Service spokesperson Adekunle Ibraheem confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

    He said: “Nine shops were affected by the fire. The fire was suspected to have started some hours before the men of Osun State Fire Service, Okefia Station were informed through one Mr Oyedele Muftau who visited our station at about 0352Hrs.

    “The fire had already destroyed properties worth millions of naira and buildings damaged before Fire Service were informed.”

    One of the shop owners Isola Olalekan said: “The fire started around 2 AM, no one can say the exact cause of the fire. A night guard who was passing discovered the fire. I have lost over 100 million to this fire.”

    The five-part series, produced in partnership with the renowned Inkblot Productions, which concluded principal photography earlier this year is primed for December 16, 2022, global premiere exclusively on Netflix.

    “Far from home” follows the story of Ishaya (Mike Afolarin), a charismatic teenager and talented artist from a poor family whose dreams suddenly appear within reach when a prestigious scholarship to the most exclusive school in the country catapults him into the affluent world of Nigeria’s elite.

    All the while a huge secret threatens Ishaya’s newfound status and, ultimately, his family’s safety.

    The young adult series blends an exciting ensemble of up-and-coming talents and established screen legends the like of Richard Mofe-Damijo, Bimbo Akintola, Femi Branch, Funke, Akindele, Bolanle Ninalowo, Chioma Akpotha, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Bucci Franklin, Linda Ejiofor, Carol King and Ufuoma Mcdermott.

    Music superstar Wizkid has released the tracklist for his new album More Love, Less Ego(MLLE).

    The Grammy award-winner moved his album release date from November 4 to 11 in honour of Ifeanyi, the son of his colleague, Davido who passed away.

    Wizkid took to his Instagram on Tuesday to reveal the 13 songs on the body of work.

    In the album, Wizkid features Ayra Starr for ‘2 Sugar’, Skillibeng and Sheen sea for ‘Slip N Slide’, Naira Marley and Skepta for ‘Wow’ and American rapper Don Toliver for ‘Special’

    NNPCL petrol stock decline by 5,481,239 litres as scarcity lingers

    As the scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) petrol has lingered, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), stock of the product declined marginally by 5,481,239 litres on November 7, The Nation has learnt.

    Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), which dropped the hint in a document titled: “Petroleum Products Stock & Days Sufficiency Data 7th November, 2022,” said the total stock, which was 1,912725464 litres on 6th November, 2022, dropped marginally to 1,907,244,225 litres on 7th November, 2022.

    The NMDPRA based its computation of average daily consumption on 60 million litres.
    Whereas the stock sufficiency was previously 30.94 days, it dipped to 30.84 days on 7th November, 2022.

    According to the document, the NMDPRA said on 6th November, it had 620,755,085 litres land-based stock that was closing stock less dead stock.

    It noted that marine stock at berth plus offshore was 1,235,365,363,288 litres, adding that total stock less dead stock was 1,856,118,373.

    The authority said depot dead stock was 56,607,091 litres, totally 1,912,725,464 .

    It noted that 650,939,902 litres was land-based stock that was closing stock less dead stock.

    The authority said marine stock at berth plus offshore was 1,199,676,226 litres while depot dead stock was 56,628,097 litres.
    Meanwhile, there was not respite for consumers across the country yesterday as scarcity and hike dominated the media.
    As our Abuja correspondent monitored the petrol market yesterday, consumers, especially motorists were still groaning over the situation.

    Only a few retail outlets were opened to customers recorded with endless queues.

    This resulted in a hike in remote and unmonitored filling stations.

    Similarly, some vendors sold the product in plastic Jerry can at about 350 per litre.
