I love my rock star son – Wizkid

Grammy award-winner Wizkid has expressed unfathomable love for his first child, Boluwatife Balogun.

Speaking of his son in a viral video, Machala referred to him as a rock star.

In the video, Wizkid is being chauffeured after an event in the cool of the evening.
As he chatted with the aide, the super star said he needed to put a call through to his son after the aide informed him that his son had called earlier.

While the phone rang without Tife picking up, Biz Wiz’s aide made a case for the 11-year-old noting he was probably asleep.

“It’s past 7 now, it’s possible he’s sleeping,” he said.

But Wizkid laughing, said his son was certainly not asleep because he doesn’t sleep by 7 considering he’s a rock star.

The “Essence” singer stated: “He’s definitely not sleeping. Tife doesn’t sleep by 7 bruh! My son is a rock star! He’s a rock star bruh! I’m sure he’ll call me back. He’s probably doing something and not with his phone. I love that boy aii!”

Chichi could not believe her luck as she plunged back into the big red modular sofa while Allysyn could only nervously laugh at her debut in the eviction roll.

As already communicated before, Riders Chizzy and Rachel’s nominations do not count as they are just in the game for the ride and not for the money.

Adekunle, Allysyn, Bella, Sheggz, Dotun, and Hermes are up for eviction in week 8 of the ongoing BBNaija Level Up.

Bella got 6 nominations, Sheggz, Adekunle and Hermes got 5 nominations, Chi Chi and Dotun got two, Allysyn, Bryann and Daniella got one nomination each.

Though rider Rachel also got 5 nominations, she is still not up for possible eviction by virtue of her rider status.
HoH Phyna sacrificed Sheggz, Bella and Adekunle before Big Brother took the opportunity to once again congratulate her for bagging the highly coveted title of Head of House.

In his concluding statement, nominations show host Ebuka reminded Big Brother Naija Level Up fans that there’s no better time to show that you’re a true fan than by keeping your favourite housemate in the game.

    Doyin, Chomzy, Eloswag unhappy

Doyin, Chomzy and Eloswag have shown dissatisfaction when Bryann, Groovy, and Phyna refused to give any tangible gist after their eviction from the House.

When the Level three guests first met Bryann, Groovy, and Phyna, they were curious to know what the housemates had to say about them after eviction.

After finding out nothing was said, Doyin expressed dismay that the evicted housemates were not a topic of discussion while Phyna emphasised that it was a trend that persisted throughout this season.

The Level three guests were encountered by Bryann, Groovy, and Phyna as they went for the Showmax HoH reward.

The housemates and the Level three guests had numerous conversations as expected. Among them was the one involving Bryann and Doyin.

She was upset to learn that some of the housemates’ reactions to her eviction had not been what she had anticipated.

Her displeasure was greatly influenced by the lack of discussion about the eviction from her ‘friends’ Chizzy, Daniella, and Dotun.

Doyin disagreed with Bryann’s explanation that the game makes it simple for housemates to move on quickly. She queried Bryann if this was the same for him when people he was close to left.

Doyin was apparently not the only Level three guest interested in finding out the thoughts of the housemates about her eviction because Chomzy also made the same request to HoH Phyna.

Just like Bryann, HoH Phyna made it clear to Chomzy that there were no discussions around the evictions which had taken place the night before.

Man City’s Benjamin Mendy found not guilty of one count of rape

Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy has been found not guilty of one count of rape on the direction of the judge at his trial.
Mendy, 28, was cleared at Chester Crown Court of the rape of a 19-year-old woman at his home in Prestbury, Cheshire, on 24 July last year.

Co-accused Louis Saha Matturie, 41, was also found not guilty of two counts of rape against the same woman.

They remain on trial for alleged sexual offences which they both deny.

Mr Matturie, of Eccles, Salford, was also cleared of one count of sexual assault against the same woman.

On Tuesday Judge Stephen Everett ordered the jury to clear the defendants of those counts after the prosecution offered no further evidence and formal not guilty counts were entered.

Prosecutors have alleged Mendy was a “predator” who “turned the pursuit of women for sex into a game”.

The footballer still faces seven counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and one count of sexual assault against six young women.

Mr Matturie, the footballer’s friend and fixer, is alleged to have had the job of finding young women for sex.

He denies six counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault relating to seven young women.

Both men said if any sex did take place with women or girls it was consensual.

Anthony Joshua ‘accepts Tyson Fury’s terms’ for December fight

Anthony Joshua has accepted WBC champion Tyson Fury’s terms for an all-British heavyweight fight on 3 December and is “awaiting a response”, his management company has said.
Joshua, 32, was sent an offer by Team Fury, suggesting a 60-40 purse split to the champion and a December fight date.

The fight was agreed on Friday but the announcement was delayed because of the death of the Queen last Thursday.

Initial terms have been agreed but Joshua is yet to sign a contract.

In a statement posted on Twitter and shared by Joshua, 258MGT said: “258 and Matchroom Boxing can confirm, on behalf of Anthony Joshua, that we accepted all terms presented to us by Fury’s team for a fight.”

Fury, 34, had said he was retiring after beating Dillian Whyte in April, and reiterated that claim last month, before challenging former world champion Joshua in a video posted on social media.

Joshua was beaten by Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch in Saudi Arabia last month, his third defeat in his past five bouts.

There is a rematch clause with a 50-50 split if Joshua beats Fury, but the venue for the December fight, should it go ahead, is yet to be confirmed.

Cardiff’s Principality Stadium has been mooted, while Saudi Arabia or another country in the Middle East could also host it.

There are still hurdles to overcome before the fight is finalised, with both fighters signed to rival promoters and broadcasters, although two-time champion Joshua this week entered the WBC rankings in sixth position in another significant development.

A boxer must be ranked in the top 15 by all governing bodies to challenge for a world title.

Professor appreciates Nigerians over controversial anti- Queen Elizabeth tweet

Nigeria-born American Professor, Uju Anya, has expressed gratitude to Nigerians over the controversy generated by her tweet on late Queen Elizabeth II of England.

As the Queen’s health was reported to be critical last Thursday, Anya tweeted: “I heard the chief monarch of a thieving raping genocidal empire is finally dying. May her pain be excruciating.”

Her tweet attracted mixed reactions with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, responding: “This is someone supposedly working to make the world better? I don’t think so. Wow.”

Anya’s tweet was eventually deleted by Twitter for violating set rules.

After the Queen’s death, she tweeted again: “If anyone expects me to express anything but disdain for the monarch who supervised a government that sponsored the genocide that massacred and displaced half my family and the consequences of which those alive today are still trying to overcome, you can keep wishing upon a star,” she got backing from a lot of people, mostly the Eastern part of Nigeria.”

Following the lifting of the suspension by Twitter, Anya appreciated Nigerians on Tuesday for the support while the ordeal lasted.

She wrote: “+234 Twitter, good morning. I give you special thanks for riding hardest for me. My Nigerian people, especially in and from Alaigbo, saw how much I love you and showed me love back. Together we shared our pain and taught the world our history. Thank you.”

Naval rating dies in boat accident

An unnamed personnel of the Nigerian Navy has died in a boat accident along the Onitsha river channel of Anambra State.

The accident reportedly involved a barge belonging to a ship repair and building company, Southern Engineering Company Limited (SECO) and an unidentified speedboat.

It was gathered that the corpse of the deceased Naval rating was recovered by operatives of the Nigeria Navy Ship (NNS SOROH) along Olugbobiri Creek in the Southern-Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State after five days.

It was gathered that the deceased naval rating fell into the water while on an escort duty onboard SECO badge which was involved in a head-on collision with the speedboat.

It was also gathered that all efforts by the combined rescue team of Navy and local fishermen proved abortive until September 8, 2022 when his corpse was recovered in Bayelsa.

According to a source, the incident occurred on September 3, 2022 around 8pm.

The recovered corpse was said to have been deposited at the Nigerian Navy Referral Hospital in Warri, Delta State.
A Naval source, who pleaded anonymity, claimed that the incident was attributed to non-use of life jacket and helmet by the deceased Naval rating.

The source also said that poor visibility on the waters made the rescue operation difficult as it could have been easily spotted with the reflective colour of the life jacket.

The spokesman for the NNS Soroh, Lt.-Cdr Ola Babatunde, confirmed the recovery of the corpse but declined to make further comments on the incident.
    End.
