    FG asks airlines to resume catering services

    Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika has announced immediate resumption of catering services on domestic and international flights.

    The services were suspended during the outbreak of COVID-19 as part of measures to curb the spread of the virus.

    While the services were suspended, passengers were offered a bottle of water by some airlines.

    The Minister disclosed this on Monday at the weekly briefing by members of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

    The Minister explained that the decision was taken in consideration of the businesses that have been adversely affected by the suspension and comfort of passengers.

    He however noted the processes and procedures for the resumption of the services would be revealed by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), which will be in line with international practices.

    The Minister also noted the reopening of Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu and the Port Harcourt International Airport for international flights were sacrosanct.

    He said a simulation exercise would be conducted prior to the opening to ascertain the level of preparedness.

    One could say all these skills are “hereditary”. She explained; “as a young girl I would always sit by my dad all night watching him write proposals and research new ideas”. Her parents remain her role models as she continues to move on in her God given career.

    XBL has become a fashion brand in Africa, operating at the highest level with its tentacles spreading from Lagos, the headquarters to Abuja, and across the Atlantic to Turkey and the United Kingdom

    She is a Paris trained creative designer who specializes in creative detailing making, especially, with the use of appliqués and embellishments. Another top consideration is the complement of photography in projecting her ideas and styles.

    Born and raised in Nigeria, she has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bowen University, Nigeria.

    As a young girl she painted a massive dream of being the number one couture designer in Africa but having ventured into the fashion business with grace, she has made a pronounced remarkable presence in the industry within two years of operations of her brand; XBL

    More creative and talented film and television directors are needed to sustain the fast pace productions in the Nigerian film industry, a Nollywood filmmaker and entrepreneur, Emeka Nwokocha has said .

    According to the founder of Dudublack, having more ingenious film and television directors will also help to boost the industry’s  international image.

    He said that film and television directors are some of the most respected individuals in the industry, adding that young Nigerians with motion creative minds should learn from other international directors, and embrace training and practice.

    “Film directing is a lucrative space that many Nigerians with passion for it can leverage on and get better on by challenging themselves, learning, starting small and practising even with a phone till it gets better.”

    “I encourage youths male and females with creative minds to try this space and I can assure you that you wouldn’t regret it,” he said.

    He explained that he desires to shop and build more prolific film and TV directors that will be producing good quality films for his several productions.

    “I have been at several meetings with the Nollywood popular film director, Izu Ojukwu for projects as well as how discussed how the next generation of film and TV directors could be found and given opportunities based on their creativity.

    “Nigeria need to wake up to the global challenge of developing her film and TV industry to compete favourably in the international visual space. Most of our productions are fast-paced, therefore more skilful directors are needed to help sustain the productions as the Nigerian film industry continues to grow,”Nwokocha said.

    Movie investment can be risky but lucrative, says Emeka Nwokocha

    Nollywood filmmaker and investor, Emeka Nwokocha of Dudubkack, has said that movie investment in Nigeria which is profitable can be risky if a proper investigation is not taken into consideration.

    The movie producer, who has produced a collection of 27 films for 10 investors between 2019 – 2023, said the future of the Nigerian film industry is huge and a medium for creatives to thrive.

    In a media parley during the weekend, while reflecting on the economic relevance of movie making, the serial entrepreneur who is also a member of the Producers’ Association of Nigeria (PAN) advised that
    though investing directly in a movie may sound glamorous but can be a complex and risky endeavour if care is not taken.

    He said: “Investing in movies can be lucrative and glamorous, but it is also a sophisticated and highly risky undertaking. Before investing in any movie project, be sure to do your due diligence and research the project, the producers, the talent, and the potential audience appeal, ”Nwokocha said.
