Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna State, Rev Joseph John Hayab, has confirmed that 14 out of the over 40 worshippers kidnapped in a Kaduna church by bandits last Sunday have regained freedom.

Locals raised the alarm that bandits fleeing from the military onslaught in Zamfara State were sighted just a kilometer away from Birnin Gwari local government headquarters.
On the released kidnap victims, Hayab said in a terse message to journalists on Thursday: “Yes some of them are back home but 25 are still with the bandits.”
”A woman with her child returned after they abandoned her in the bush.”
