Africa’s biggest  football fans channel, Football Fans Tribe (FFT)  said its passion at pushing and promoting women football across local communities, fuelled its coverage of the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

Team lead and presenter of FFT, Iderima Tokoni, popularly known as Tox also reiterated his commitment to bringing the opinions of everyday football fans in Nigeria and Africa to the rest of the world through high-quality video content hence giving needed exposure to local stars especially talented youths and girls.

He made the disclosure during a media interaction on his drive and pet projects to support and reward football fans through content creation; one fan at a time project; one local viewing centre  at a time concept and one stadium at a time.

He recounted that his passion for women football spurred from the performances of Bayelsa Queens, who were based in Bayelsa State, his maternal home which sparked a lot of his interest in supporting the female in the round leather game.

He said he gave priority to supporting and covering the national women’s  football  team, the Super Falcons  at the  soon to be completed FIFA Women World Cup as a show of commitment to the development of the game across local communities and giving hope to other aspiring young footballers.

He said: “It’s really been a long time coming and something deliberately planned. Women football really deserves this, especially in Nigeria where our female team is the gold standard for all Africa.

“So it was just a necessity that they go this coverage through our pre match, during match and post-match activities. This brought a large portion of our audience to also following the Super Falcons and cheering them on from all over the World.”

He expressed delight at hitting a landmark 100,000 subscribers on YouTube and approaching 1 million followers across social media.

“It has been over 4 years of hard work and effort from not just me but the entire team,” he said.”The goal has always been to grow, prioritize quality and reach a greater audience on the way and it’s a thing of joy to everyone in the crew and within the community we are able to grow together.

“Now we stay focused on putting in more work and hitting the next milestone and the next after that.”

He promised to deliver more innovative football fan content basically that will give leverage to Nigerian and African youths to achieve their dreams in the round leather game.
