‘Be agent of positive change’

The Chairman of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Akoka Branch, Alhaji Bashiru Lawal, has urged youths to be agents of positive change in the country.

This, he said, will curb the Get-rich-quick syndrome.

Speaking at the Grand finale of the 11th Anniversary of Ansar-Ud-Deen Youths Association of Nigeria (ADYAN), Akoka Branch, Alhaji Lawal implored parents not to let work hinder them from taking care of their children.

He said: “We shouldn’t say it’s the work of the teacher to train them because they are going to school. The work of teachers isn’t more than 50 per cent, the rest is up to the parents and they should guide the children properly so as to follow the right path religiously.

“We often scold the female and this has made the males become wayward and act irresponsibly in the society.”

Alhaji Bashiru urged religious leaders to give truthful sermons and not to focus on monetary gain.

Missioner of Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria, Ebute Meta Branch, Abdul Wahab Agbomeji emphasised the need for peaceful coexistence amongst Nigerians with no religious, political or ethnic bias.
