Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has vowed not to support Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The governor is unhappy with Atiku’s stance on killings in Benue.
Ortom believes that most of the attacks were perpetrated by herdsmen, a claim Atiku faulted.
He spoke on Sunday when he hosted Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) at the Government House in Makurdi.
The four governors were in the state ahead of the flag-off of PDP campaigns yesterday.
Ortom lamented the killing of 18 people in his local government last week, during which a man in his 20s had his eyes removed.
He said: “To hell with Atiku and anyone supporting him. They should go and tell him.
“Anybody supporting Atiku is an enemy of Benue.
“My people are being killed and you want me to be quiet.
“My tenure ends in May and you can do whatever you want if you think you have the powers. I have written my will.
“When I gave it to my wife, she cried all night. If I die at 62, many of my mates have gone a long time ago.
“If I die today, I’m a fulfilled person but let it be recorded that I died resisting the invasion and killing of my people.”
Ortom slammed National Assembly members from Benue whom he said have failed to condemn the killings.
He said: “From tomorrow, I’m turning my venom on the National Assembly members from the state…”
The governor warned those who may be planning to rig elections, saying: “If you come here to rig any election, we are not going to accept it.”
