Niger Tornadoes Supporters’ Club has expressed shock and disappointment over the suspension of the team’s technical adviser, Abdullahi Biffo.
Biffo was suspended last week by the chairman of the club’s Management Committee, Adamu Aliyu, for anti-club activities.
In a telephone chat with SportingLife, the supporters’ Club Secretary, Ibrahim Dantala said the chairman took the decision without due consultation.
Dantala said Biffo deserved commendation for what he has achieved for the club rather than the humiliation he was subjected to.
“We are dissociating ourselves with the decision taken by the management and we are not part of it. The suspension given to the technical adviser is not necessary. All allegations levelled against him were false. We are appealing to the state government and sports ministry for urgent intervention to save the club.
Biffo guided the team to promotion last season and 13th position in the first round. So there is no reason to disrespect such person,” Dantala told SportingLife.
SportingLife gathered that the Niger State Commissioner for Sports, Mamman Musa Maikunkele has called for an emergency meeting with the supporters’ club.
