WHEN the Chairman of Sunny Motors, Chief Sunny Asemota, was alive, he was a symbol of high society. As one of the wealthiest men in Nigeria, he was a perfect definition of luxury. This was also evident in his burial ceremony.
The Edo-born patriarch of the Asemota family passed on at the age of 87, leaving behind a wife, Ireti, and his children. But the family chose to celebrate his life and times, rather than allowing the loss to weaken them.
A befitting burial ceremony was held for Asemota recently and it was a gathering of billionaires. Aliko Dangote, Chief Razaq Okoya, Chief Olu Okewo, Chief Alex Duduyemi, and Florence Ita-Giwa were some of the top personalities who graced the event.
Others were Lanre Folawiyo, Shade Okoya, Nana Otedola, Tola Adegbite, Terry Waya, Gbemi Shasore, Bolanle Austen-Peters, Segun Agbaje, Osagie Okunbor, James Ibori, Segun Awolowo, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Wale Tinubu, and Sisi Abbah Folawiyo.
