President Muham-madu Buhari is expected to attend the forthcoming Kano State Second Economic and Investment Summit, scheduled to hold between April 23 and April 25 this year, Chairman of the summit, Dr. Shamsudden Usman, has confirmed to reporters.
While addressing a press conference in Kano yesterday, Dr. Usman said the objective of the summit, among others, is to market Kano State to both national and international investors, with a view to boosting its economic opportunities.
Usman explained that the summit would enrich the existing five-year economic plan of the state to cover areas that were not captured in the plan.
Apart from that, it would generate performance-based plan that could be tracked by government for the next five years, as well as map out better synchronisation between the state and federal economic plans.
The first Kano economic summit was held in 2006 under Malam Ibrahim Shekarau-led administration.
