Two former governorship aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State, Alhaji Kabir Barkiya and Alhaji Tukur Jikamshi, have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
They were received at the governorship rally of APC’s candidate, Aminu Masari, by President-elect Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina yesterday.
Other defectors included the former Military Governor of Borno, retired Col Abdulmumini Aminu, eight serving members of the Katsina State House of Assembly and two former commissioners, Nasidi Danladi and Aminu Jamo.
Buhari thanked God for the success APC recorded during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
He urged the electorate to vote for APC candidates during the governorship and houses of assembly elections.
The President-elect assured that he would fulfill the promises he made during the campaign.
Masari assured the people that he would improve their living conditions if elected.
He advised the party’s supporters to be law-abiding during and after the elections.
