President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate on the funding of petrol in the country.
A source told our reporter yesterday that the presidential letter might have sought approval to bring back fuel subsidy regime. But this could not be confirmed last night.
However, the source said the letter requesting for approval of some money as fuel subsidy “may be read today on the floor of the Senate.”
On Monday, the NNPC raised the alarm over alleged diversion of truck loads of petroleum products to neighbouring countries.
NNPC claimed that the country was losing over N774 million daily through the fraudulent activities of those who divert Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to other countries.
