The Managing Director of Movida Lounge, Mr Sunny Onweazu has encouraged youths in the country to be hardworking to improve themselves and the society.
Onweazu, in an interaction with reporters in Abuja, said it was regrettable that youths these days seem to be interested in making quick money.
“The youths today are not ready to work hard. I have tried a lot of them to push them up but they are not ready. I have tried a lot of them to push them up, but they are not ready. They want easy money. They want quick money. They don’t want to stress themselves, they don’t want to suffer to make it. They always want things easy for them. But you know in Nigeria, things don’t get easy. The only ones that come easy are the bad ones, maybe Yahoo or ritual money which would not take you anywhere.
“Hard work pays better but they are not ready for hard work. That is the problem I am having with them. But I would encourage them to go back and start working on themselves and get busy. By the time they do that we would have a better Nigeria.”
Onweazu, who celebrated his 47th birthday, also called on the government to provide necessary infrastructure to support businesses in the country.
“It has not been easy, and a lot of factors have tried to bring us down, but because we are strong and we have a target. The Nigerian factor is a problem, concerning a lot of things like the light issue and the rest of them. It has not been easy for us, but we are able to keep up because we really want to get to the destination.
“Government has a lot to do for people that are doing business in Nigeria. The electricity issue is a very big problem. They need to work on that. They should ensure businessmen and women have the necessary amenities ready for us to do our business. Because without light this business would be very difficult to run. We really need them to work on the light. Let them know how they can improve on the light system. It would help us businessmen,” he said.
He said despite various challenges, they have managed to continue growing.
“Movida is 12 years old now. It has not been an easy journey but we are able to get there and I would not have been there without the help and patronage of my customers. So I want to appreciate them and give back to them and surprise them and make them part of the business so that we would get to that level we are aiming to,” he said.
He encouraged Nigerians to invest in the entertainment business.
“Entertainment is one of the biggest businesses in Nigeria if you know what you are doing. There is a lot of money in it. But you have to be dedicated. It is a very good business. I would encourage Nigerians to invest in it. It is a large market,” he said.
