Carabao Cup: Success scores in Watford’s loss

Isaac Success continued his good form in the Carabao Cup with a goal in Watford’s 6-4 defeat against Tottenham Hotspurs via penalties while Alex Iwobi was in action for 90minutes in Arsenal’s 3-1 win on Wednesday night.

The former Flying Eagles former grabbed his first goal of the season in the same competition when he helped the Hornets to a 2-0 win against Reading in August.

However, he wasn’t so lucky this time as he fell on the losing side. Success scored in the 46th minute but with ten minutes left on the clock Spurs won a penalty and Dele Alli tucked it home from 12yards.

With the Hornets down to ten men following the red card Christian Kabasele, Tottenham raise in front with a cool finish by Erik Lamela but in a dramatic twist Etienne Capoue equalised right at the death to end it 2-2 and head straight into penalties.

Watford eventually lost the game after missing two spot kicks as Tottenham won the shootouts 4-2.

At the Emirates, Arsenal defeated Moses Odubajo’s Brentford 3-1 courtesy a brace from Danny Welbeck and a goal from France international Alexander Lacazette as Nigerian Alex Iwobi lasted 90minutes.
