Day 27 started with another drama as the current Head of House, Erica engaged Wathoni in a war of words over Kiddwaya.

It all started when Wathoni asked Kiddwaya if he has chased any girl in the House and he replied he doesn’t chase guys.

The statement got Erica upset because she thought Wathoni directed the shot at her and Kiddwaya couldn’t defend her.

Erica told Kiddwaya he knows Wathoni doesn’t like her yet Kiddwaya fell for the half Kenyan and half Nigerian’s trap.

She confessed to not like Wathoni either saying the mother of one is fond of throwing shades at her.

Erica walked up to Wathoni to solve their issues but the move went awry as the two Housemates ended up shouting at each other.

As the fight went on, Erica declared her relationship with Kiddwaya is over and Wathoni can have him if she’s still interested.

Surprisingly, just about five minutes after the face off, Erica and Kidd were caught on camera kissing in the HoH Lounge.

BBNaija Lockdown: Housemates lose wager under Erica’s leadership

    By Gbenga Bada

For the third time, the BBNaija Lockdown housemates have lost their wager for the week.

On August 13, the 16 housemates lost their chance to win the wager for the second time after winning it under Ozo’s leadership in the third week.

Erica is the Head of House for the fourth week and she has Kiddwaya as her deputy.

Despite Erica’s efforts to ensure the wager was won after Ozo achieved the feat in the third week, the housemates lost their chance to secure a wager ahead of the fifth week during the Thursday wager game.

The housemates spent a major time of their free time in the fourth week preparing for their wager challenge – a drama on “No Means No”.

After being summoned to the Arena, the housemates were instructed to divide themselves into a Black Team, and a White Team, with equal numbers of males and females in each team. After fumbling through the selection process, Biggie decided to make the selection himself.

The White Team: Vee (leader), Bright O, TrickyTee, Erica, Lucy, Kaisha, Prince and Ozo.

The Black Team: Kiddwaya (Leader), Wathoni, Tolanibaj, Praise, Laycon, Neo, Nengi, Dorathy.

The first part of the wager challenge was a quiz on fun Nigerian history facts.

The rules for this portion was that the round would consist of ten questions for each team. A team leader would have to be selected to read the questions out and they would not be allowed to answer any of the questions.

It was the Team Leaders duty to select a specific individual on the opposite team to answer the question they had picked. The team member picked had a maximum of two opportunities to answer the question correctly, and they could not be assisted by any of their fellow team members. No team member was to be asked more than two questions. The losing team would forfeit all of their Big Brother Nairas and the winning team would be awarded fifty Big Brother Naira each.

Praise and Tolanibaj both struggled and didn’t manage to answer any of their questions correctly while Prince, Dorathy, Lucy, and Nengi did brilliantly well. The surprise of the quiz was Kaisha who seemed unsure but still managed to get two correct answers. Joining her in the select group with two questions answered correctly was Erica.

At the end of the quiz the score was: White Team 10 – Black Team 8, handing the win to the White Team. To this end, Kiddwaya, Wathoni, Tolanibaj, Praise, Laycon, Neo, Nengi, and Dorathy lost their BBNaira while Vee, Bright O, TrickyTee, Erica, Lucy, Kaisha, Prince and Ozo got 50 BBNairas each to their wallet.

    No means no presentation

This part of the Wager Challenge was focused around highlighting the scourge of gender-based violence. The Housemates created a play that touched on the different instances that this heinous crime can occur. The presentation was expertly narrated by Vee, featured a poem by Laycon, and showcased fantastic performances from all of the Housemates with Erica and Praise being the most noteworthy.

After the housemates completed the performance, Biggie asked ominously: “Is that all?” Though the presentation was poignant, the Housemates fell far short of the allotted time for the performance. Kiddwaya attempted to soothe Biggie by explaining that the majority of messages that he had seen on the subject matter were concise like their effort. This was the reason that their presentation was succinct but still managed to highlight many varied instances of gender-based violence perfectly.

This explanation didn’t manage to sway Biggie’s opinion and the Housemates winning streak came to an end. The presentation was perfect, but not following the rules led to the Wager Challenge being a loss.

    By Gbenga Bada

Neo has revealed kneeling for a lady isn’t a big deal.

The 26-year-old made this known on August 14 just before noon while responding to Bright O.

Earlier in the day while clearing their room, Neo had sent his love interest, Vee away from his corner.

Other Housemates wondered what was going on but many gave little or no attention to the couple.

Rather than respond, Vee kept quiet and moved her things away from his corner.

Laycon, who is Vee’s buddy, tried interfering but she asked him to let Neo have his filled day.

Few minutes after Neo had finished cleaning his corner, he went after Vee to request a cuddle on his bed but Vee rejected and gave him the only condition for cuddling him.

She asked Neo to kneel before her and apologise to which Neo did without blinking.

He knelt before Vee and blurted the words, “I am sorry.”

A surprised Neo wondered aloud and responded saying “it’s not a big deal to kneel and apologise to a lady.

“You won’t know now until you get yourself into trouble and you need forgiveness.”

Vee smiled and asked Neo who his mummy was to which he responded, ‘You

The diary session experienced yet another emotional moment as former Deputy Head of House, Prince wept while sending a shoutout to his family.

Biggie had asked Prince to mention two persons he misses most and tell them whatever he would like to discuss with them.

Prince started by sending a message to his mom, saying he misses and appreciates her.

Then he moved on to his elder brother with whom he said he never had a close relationship because they grew up a world apart.

“Before I left for quarantine, he called me and we spoke and he said some things to me that he never said before and I did the same.

“He opened up on some things to me that he probably never opened up to anybody but despite the fact that he was absent in our lives while growing up, he did his best to support us, to support me especially because I was the hot-headed one, I was kind of the rebel in the house.

“Thank you, big brother, thank you for everything you have done for me directly and indirectly,” Prince said.

Former Deputy Head of House, Dorathy has shared her opinion on Erica as the current Head of House.

During her diary session, Dorathy said Erica is struggling as the Head of House probably because she is not used to being a team leader.

She said Erica is struggling not to offend the Housemates and at the same time trying to get her job done.

“I remember Prince saying he wanted to talk to her and I said I would like to be there as well and we spoke to her concerning how to separate friendship and the Head of House position but she said she gat it.

“People are saying she’s sounding a bit rude but I think she’s just trying to get people to listen to her basically, I feel like she thinks they don’t take her seriously.

“I feel like it’s your energy that matters when you’re trying to get people together because naturally as humans we are rebels. She will be fine,” said Dorathy.

About Kiddwaya being the deputy Head of House, she said: “I expected more from him. When she picked him I was like oh yea at least Kidd knows he can bring people together but I’m not seeing much of that basically”.

BBNaija misrepresents goodness of Nigerian youths – Ooni

    By Toba Adedeji, Osogbo

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has condemned the prominent television reality show; Big Brother Naija, urging the National Youth Council of Nigeria to work out plans to harness the talents and values of young professionals.

The monarch opined that the show has been misrepresenting the goodness of the Nigerian youths.

A statement by the Directorate of Media and Publicity of Ooni’s palace, Comrade Moses Olafare on Thursday said, Oba Ogunwusi played host to scores of Nigerian youths from all parts of the country under the aegis of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.

“The youths have misplaced their priorities and must redress it as a matter of urgent public importance. Big Brother 9ija reality show has been misrepresenting the goodness of the Nigerian youths.

“I am not pleased with the low participation of the country’s teeming youths in leadership. In the last general election, the total number of vote cast is around 27 million while over 170 million people voted during the 2019 Big Brother 9ija reality show. This is a practical reality of who Nigerian youths are and where our priorities lie as Nigerians.

“The funny side in all of these is that we still go to bed, have a good sleep and wake up with the hope to meet a Nigeria we didn’t create. Nigerians Youths! Unfortunately, every time I talk about this kind of attitude, everyone just laugh and moves on. What kind of nation are we building?

“When people say this country, or what kind of country is this, they are indirectly saying these people – it is the people that make a country; so what kind of Nigerian youths are we?” The Ooni queried.

The monarch offered a suggestion for a reality show which will project the country’s values; he charged leaders of the National Youth Council of Nigeria to work out plans on the show which will be called, “The Big Nigeria Reality Show.”

“The proposed show will be structured in a way that young professionals, talented individuals and others across several field of endeavour will be showcased and helped to reach their peak. This would help the participants and also help viewers to have access to people that can be seen as role models,” the Ooni added.
