    On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, Nollywood actress and producer, Biola Adebayo hosted family, friends and colleagues to a befitting prayer session and reception in honour of her late mother, Mrs Mojisola Nurat Adebayo, who passed away a week ago.

    The event was held at the Devine Hall, situated inside Ikeja, had Islamic clergy declaring the event open with prayers before guests were treated to fine dishes and drinks.

    The prayer session had the Adebayo family and friends gathered to pray for the repose of the late Mrs Nurat Adebayo with the children led by Biola in attendance.

    After the prayer session, which saw the actress dressed in white, Biola proceeded to the reception which had dignitaries from all walks of life in attendance.

    Dressed in a purple attire, Biola couldn’t help but dance to the tunes of the band, who sang her praises to high heavens.

    Many of her colleagues, who attended the event include Odunlade Adekola, Regina Chukwu, Tawa Ajisefini, Lola Afolayan aka Lola Idije, Seun Oloketuyi and a host of others.

    A new reality show, Ground Zero, which showcases the resilience and determination of Nigerians in their pursuit of success, is set to premiere on March 16 on YouTube and across all social media platforms.

    Emmanuel Agbaeze, Chief Executive Officer, 36Media and one of the organisers, disclosed that the show would test the participant’s survival skills and entrepreneurial spirit.

    He described Ground Zero as groundbreaking reality show that will take audiences on an intense journey of survival, entrepreneurship and resourcefulness.

    “The first season follows a single participant who is dropped into an unfamiliar city with absolutely nothing, no money, no contacts and no resources. 

    “His mission is to earn N1million starting from absolute zero as the participant wouldn’t have any safety nets nor assistance from people hr or she knows.

    “The participant must rely solely on skills, creativity and determination to survive and succeed as the show would capture every challenge, setback and triumph of the participant.

    “The viewers would be offered a raw and emotional insight into the struggles of making a living from scratch” he said.

    Agbaeze further explained that the reality show would display the unique survival skills of the participant noting that their survival depends on their skills and creativity. 

    “The participant is dropped into a city with his clothes, a small backpack with essentials and a mobile phone and cannot reveal being part of a reality show or contact anyone.

    “Survival depends entirely on skills, creativity and hustle as it is important to note that to make money, the participant can start a small business, freelance or act as a middleman in business deals and earnings and losses will be displayed on-screen in real time.

    “The participant will also face daily challenges that test resourcefulness such as trading a small item for something of higher value or selling a set number of products within 24 hours. 

    “Completing these tasks would help in earning points, which would be converted to cash, thereby helping in reaching the  N1million goal in 30days” He said.

    Mr Olukayode Adegbola of Mango Tree Media who is also part of the organisers, said that the show taps into themes that resonate deeply with Nigerians.

    He also highlighted the show’s educational value stating that it offers practical lessons in business, financial literacy and problem solving.

    “Many Nigerians face daily economic challenges, making the show’s premise highly relevant to its viewers and it would serve as a motivational tool for them.

    Media personality Chinedu Ani, popularly known as Nedu, has addressed recent online allegations and controversies surrounding him. 

    Nedu, in a statement, stepped away from the podcast, citing a need to prioritise his well-being.

    Nedu explained that his role on the podcast was to facilitate thought-provoking discussions and spark controversies, which he felt he had accomplished. 

    However, he expressed frustration and hurt, stating that his niceness had been taken for granted and that he had been abused by people he considered friends.

    Moving forward, Nedu announced that he is done being nice and will no longer be reachable or accessible.

    He emphasised the need to take care of himself and prioritise his well-being, marking the end of the “nice part” of Nedu.

    In a video, he wrote: “Rather than engaging in petty fights, I have decided to clear the air by stepping away from the show. My role on the podcast is to make guests feel comfortable while encouraging thought-provoking discussions. My job was to ask questions that would spark controversies and debates, which I successfully accomplished.

    “To be honest, I’m done being nice. My niceness has been taken for granted, and I’ve been abused by people who claim to be my friends. I’m tired of being used and taken advantage of. 

    “I respectfully ask that if you have my number, please delete it. I don’t want to be reachable or accessible anymore. 

    “I need to take care of myself and prioritise my well-being. The nice part of Nedu is dead and buried. I’m no longer going to be a nice guy.”

    Embattled singer Portable has pleaded for help after being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.

    In a heartfelt plea via videos on Instagram, Portable shared his side of the story, denying any wrongdoing and claiming he’s being targeted by evil individuals.

    Portable expressed his frustration and fear, stating that he’s being persecuted despite being a law-abiding citizen who makes a living from his music.

    He emphasised that he’s not a thief or a killer and that he waits for his blessings while also blessing others.

    The singer also revealed that he’s being intimidated by unknown persons who showed up at his house, ordering him to vacate.

    Portable claimed that he’s not a troublemaker, but rather a superstar who’s being targeted by those who envy his success.

    Portable further revealed that he’s a patient at Aro Hospital, where he receives treatment for his mental health.

    He shared that he’s been certified as a patient and has a card to prove it.

    The singer appealed to the government and the public to intervene in his case, stating that he’s afraid of being locked up and is currently experiencing physical pain.

    Portable said: “Nigeria, this is when I need you people’s help. There’s no place like home, but ev!l people full home. Why only me? Why do I have issues in Nigeria? I do music for a living, I’m not a thief, I don’t kill people. I wait for my blessing. I bless people too. I don’t make trouble. People look for my trouble, I’m a superstar. God forgive me if I do any bad. After God, na government. They set me up with the government. I don’t have any issues with the government or police. Some people just came to my house, telling me to pack out. I’m not a criminal. I’m not feeling fine. And I’m afraid. I don’t want them to lock me up. I’m going through pain all over my body. I’m a Federal Government liability. I didn’t go to school, I’m a fashion designer.

    “I fear government. I am a federal government liability. Then I’m a madman; I have medications that I usually take. You can confirm from Aro Hospital. I have a card that certifies me as one of their patients.

    “I am from Abeokuta and they are taking care of me there. I am not a thief, I help people around me without even looking at their background.”

    Ogun police declare Portable wanted

    The Ogun State Police Command has declared controversial musician, Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, wanted over his alleged involvement in a violent attack on government officials.

    According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola, Portable was accused of leading a gang of thugs to attack officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development on an enforcement exercise in the Ota area of the State.

    The police alleged that Portable’s father was encountered by the officials at a bar in the area and claimed his son was not around. 

    However, Portable reportedly appeared soon after, armed with a gun and other weapons, and led the attack on the officials.

    The police stated that nine of Portable’s accomplices were arrested but that he escaped and has since gone into hiding. 

    Despite invitations to report to the police, Portable allegedly refused to do so, leading to the issuance of a court order declaring him wanted.

    The police are urging members of the public to provide any information that could lead to Portable’s arrest, warning that anyone found to be aiding or harbouring him would face legal consequences.

    The statement reads: “Valid Court Order Issued for His Arrest and Presentation at Any Police Station.

    “The Ogun State Police Command hereby declares Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, popularly known as “Portable”, wanted for his involvement in a violent attack on government officials carrying out their lawful duties.

    “On February 5, 2025, at approximately 1000hrs, officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office

    were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, when they encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at Odogwu Bar in the area. Upon identifying themselves and requesting the approved building plan, the father informed them that his son was unavailable.

    “However, moments later, Portable, armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, led a gang of nine thugs in a violent attack on the unarmed officials. The enforcement officers sustained various bodily injuries but managed to escape and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command, which subsequently escalated the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action.

    “Nine accomplices were arrested, but Portable fled the scene and has since gone into hiding. Multiple formal invitations were sent to him, requesting his presence at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, which he deliberately ignored without cause or legal representation.

    “Following his repeated evasion, the Ogun State Police Command has obtained a valid court order declaring him wanted.

    “Members of the public are strongly advised to assist the police by providing any valuable information that can lead to his immediate arrest. Anyone found aiding or harbouring the suspect will face legal consequences.

    “For any relevant information, kindly report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command through its official communication channels or police public relations department.”
