  • Regina Daniels slams co-wife, Laila Charani, over lesbianism claim

Regina Daniels slams co-wife, Laila Charani, over lesbianism claim

Actress Regina Daniels has responded to fellow co-wife Laila Charani’s claims of drug use, lesbian affairs, and being a danger to children in the household.

Laila earlier questioned how Regina can claim she gave her money and how she doesn’t trust her daughters alone with Daniels.

She said she is very content with the provisions her husband, Ned Nwoko, makes for their family.

She claimed that the reason Regina is fighting her husband is because he wants her to stop her drug and alcohol addiction.

“You also know that my husband completely hates alcohol, drugs, and smoking. He has always been clear that he would never accept any wife who drinks, smokes, or uses drugs. The only reason you are fighting my husband is because he wants you to stop your drug and alcohol addiction. It has always been a serious matter for him, as he neither smokes nor drinks himself”, she said.

Charani also alleged that she almost lost her marriage when Daniels introduced her to drugs 6 years ago, and it was Ned who rescued her from that dark part.

“You know too well that I almost lost my marriage when you introduced me to drugs 6 years ago, and it was my husband’s quick insistence on intervention that rescued me from that dark path. You have been a bad influence since you married into this beautiful family, giving drugs to nannies and our workers, including your younger sister Destiny”, she continued.

She added that she doesn’t trust her daughters around her unsupervised, especially when she found out that she was sleeping with every single girl around her.

“You infected everyone with your virus, and this is why I will not trust my daughters around you unsupervised, especially when I found out that you were sleeping with every single girl around you”, she added.

Responding to the allegations, Regina dismissed Laila’s lengthy statement as scripted by their husband and described the claim that children should not be left unsupervised with her as “the most useless and hurtful thing to say”.

Addressing the allegation that she “sleeps with every single girl” in the household, the mother of two neither confirmed nor denied same-s3x relationships but turned the accusation back on Laila.

She wrote, “First off! Openly saying you can’t leave kids around me is the most useless and hurtful thing Ned ordered his retarded wife to say. I’m such a mother to so many children that it’s quite tiring. Also, saying I sleep with every single girl?

“Truthfully, sleeping with the same gender isn’t a thing that I consider shameful, but how is the other woman so certain? lol. Is she so certain because I slept with her, too?

“I hope she also knows that if not for polygamy disadvantages, her son and mine can’t be together because of all the atrocities we have caught him doing that I will never mention! But my son loves him, so what can I do?”

Davido wrote on X, “In 2011, I skipped school to perform in Ibadan. Asa, Peju, B Red and Sina picked me up from Babcock, and we drove to join the Lynxxx and Friends Tour. I had no idea it was going to air on Soundcity, and when my pops saw it, I got in so much trouble.

“14 years later, we destroyed the stadium. The 5ive Alive run across Nigeria has been one for the books.”

Davido is using his platform to encourage his peers to invest in their homeland and give back to their roots.

Folagade Banks joins Youth Minister, Afolayan, others to inspire youths at Noella foundation programme

Popular skit maker and actor, Folagade Banks, joined the Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, ace filmmaker Kunle Afolayan and other notable figures at a youth inspiration programme organised by the Noella Foundation in Lagos state.

The event, themed “Inspiring the Next Generation,” brought together young Nigerians from different walks of life to share experiences and learn from accomplished individuals who have made their mark in various fields.

The Noella Foundation, founded by Seyi Tinubu — son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu — and his wife, Layal Tinubu, is a non-profit organisation committed to empowering young Nigerians through mentorship, education, and capacity-building initiatives.

The foundation also runs several outreach programmes that focus on child welfare, youth empowerment and community development across the country.

Speaking at the event, Folagade Banks, whose real name is Abiri Tobi Festus, shared his inspiring journey to stardom, urging Nigerian youths to pursue their passions with focus and resilience.

Banks recounted how his love for acting and storytelling pushed him to take risks.

“There were times I would travel from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, to Lagos just to shoot a scene for N20,000. It wasn’t about the money; it was about passion and purpose,” he said.

He noted that despite the challenges and uncertainties of the early days, his consistency eventually paid off, transforming him from a skit actor known for his popular “Mama Deola” character into a versatile performer capable of interpreting diverse roles.

“I started with Mama Deola, and many thought that was all I could do. But with time and consistency, I’ve been able to evolve into different roles — as a matron, a mother, and even beyond comedy. Consistency is what makes the difference,” he added.

Kunle Afolayan, who also addressed the participants, emphasised the importance of storytelling and cultural preservation in today’s creative industry, urging young filmmakers to remain authentic while embracing innovation.

The Minister for Youth Development, represented by a senior official from the ministry, commended the Noella Foundation for its continued efforts in providing platforms that inspire and empower young Nigerians to reach their full potential.

He said such collaborations between government and private initiatives were vital in addressing youth unemployment and in promoting creativity as a tool for national development.

The event ended with an interactive session where participants engaged with the speakers on practical ways to harness opportunities in the creative and entrepreneurial sectors.

BBNaija’s Adekunle thanks Lagos police for action in alleged brutality case

Big Brother Naija star Adekunle has shared an update on his recent encounter with police brutality.

In a lengthy post on X, Adekunle expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Police Command’s Complaint Response Unit for their prompt action and investigation into his case.

He wrote: “In the last few days, the only news you’ve heard from me has been difficult, but at this very moment, I would like to share some good news with you.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank The Lagos State Police Command Complaint Response Unit for their prompt attention to this matter. From reaching out, swinging into action the moment the news broke, and following up to make sure everything was okay”.

Adekunle praised the efforts of ACP Oluyemisi Ojo, who led the investigation, and urged citizens to report any cases of police brutality.

The reality star revealed that the police officers involved in the incident have been found and disciplinary action has been taken against them.

He continued: “I have been in talks with the ACP in charge of the Area J Command, Elemoro, Ibeju Lekki, providing her with all the details necessary with hopes that the officers at fault would be found and brought to book.

“I am happy to let you know that I just left the Elemoro Police Station and thanks to the effort and investigation of ACP Oluyemisi Ojo, the police officers were found, and disciplinary action has been taken against them.

“Justice has been served! I can’t begin to describe how much of a heavy burden and emotional weight has been lifted off my shoulders. The mere fact that justice can be served at a time where public trust for the police is very low is truly encouraging.

“For everyone who has ever been treated badly at the hands of police officers, please make sure you report the case. Get as much evidence as you can and take the matter up. The Lagos State Complaint Response Unit (on Instagram) works, and their job is to ensure the safety of the citizens while also sanitizing the system of the bad officers.

“I shouldn’t have experienced what I went through, and neither should any Nigerian simply going about their business. I know I am lucky, but also, I was innocent. We are approaching the celebratory season.

“PLEASE BE CAREFUL. While there are good officers out there, the bad ones exist also. While celebrating, be mindful of your surroundings and remember the potential risks. Harassment is unacceptable, and no one deserves to go through all that”.

Adekunle’s post comes after he was allegedly assaulted by police officers, and he has been sharing his experience to raise awareness about police brutality.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate thanked his fans for their support and prayers, saying it’s a blessing to know he’s not alone.

He added: “For all the messages, calls, prayers, and outpouring of love and support I received, I am truly grateful. It is indeed a blessing to know that I was not alone during this period and that there will always be people to rise up and stand with you when it truly matters.

“Thank you everyone, God bless you. Now it’s time to focus on being me again”.

Don’t relegate parental role to children who are breadwinners – Biodun Stephen urges

Renowned filmmaker Biodun Stephen has advised parents not to relinquish their authority to their children, even when the children become the primary breadwinners.

In a recent social media post, Stephen emphasised that a child’s financial contribution to the family should not blur parental boundaries or diminish the role of good parenting.

According to Stephen, parents should maintain discipline and guidance, regardless of whether the child is the breadwinner or not.

She wrote, “Poverty does not diminish the role of good parenting. That your child is the breadwinner doesn’t mean the baton of parenting is now the child’s, as long as the said child, under the law and your household rules, is still recognised as a child.”

She noted that life’s circumstances may lead to children becoming the primary providers, but this should not lead parents to abdicate their responsibilities.

“Of course, life happens such that the child may become the breadwinner, it doesn’t mean as parents we dance to the tune of that child forgetting our roles in the first place”, she continued.

Stephen’s advice follows a documentary she watched, which highlighted how parents often lose their moral authority once a child begins to provide for the family.

She urged parents to play their role effectively, regardless of financial circumstances.

“Saw a documentary that triggered me so, and I see how this plays out here, even on SM Street. Parents, play your role regardless”, she added.

Nigerian music legend 2Face Idibia has opened up about the bitter-sweet nature of his hit song “African Queen”.

He said, “That song has been a huge blessing and e don turn to problem join for me, you know, but like I said earlier, I’m grateful for everything.

The 2004 classic catapulted him to international fame, earning him numerous awards and cementing his status as one of Africa’s biggest music exports.
